That would be really stupid of Bears ownership to go to Gary Indiana. I am sure that Gary will give them all the free land and tax breaks they want - but it is still Gary.

The city of Chicago doesn’t really need the Bears though. The Bears currently have one of the best NFL locations in sports, on the Lake and in the museum district. If they want to leave, there will be another museum built there or a multi billion dollar housing skyscraper. It is literally some of the premier real estate in the wirld.

The Bears ownership is original ownership, so there extended family just survives off the money from the Bears. So it is possible they take short term money and then sell.

Chicago isn’t any more or less “business friendly” than in the past. It never has been a city that will bend over backwards for a corporation or business - because it doesn’t need to.

If Gary wants to give hundreds of acres to the Bears and not collect any taxes - then they can do that, and it’s up to the Bears…. Either way Chicago will be fine.

US Supreme Court's conservative supermajority deals Trump 2.0 a defeat
on bid to unilaterally federalize the National Guards

The conservative-majority court’s order represents a significant political victory for governors in their escalating battle with Trump over
his authority to go against their wishes and use federalized troops on U.S. soil.

    the order said.

“.... the Government has failed to identify a source of authority that would allow the military to execute the laws on US soil,”
“Thus, the Government has not carried its burden to show that (the law) permits the President to federalize the Guards
in the exercise of inherent authority to protect federal personnel and property on US soil.”

    The USSC wrote that

the president failed to explain why the situations in California / DC / Illinois / Oregon warranted an exception to
the Posse Comitatus Act that limits the military's ability to execute laws on U.S. soil.

Perhaps Mad King Don does not give two sh*ts what the SCOTUS says. Trump being an outlaw will wear this like a badge of honor.
