Are the players and the coaches the reason?

It’s Durant’s refusal to moisturize and take daily showers. Killing the spirit of the team behind the scenes.

Rockets are losing some tough games on b2b, you know they played amazing against Denver. Sac just got the best of them
late, and i think the rockets ran out of gas. They will get on a roll eventually, its hard to play any team b2b in the nba, just tough.

I’ve been watching games this season and when overwhelming favorite team looses to underdogs are when even a simple shots just spin in and out while opponents no name players having career nights. I admit some of the issues are not shutting them off when we had a chance but guy like Saddiq Bey, Dinosaur Kings shooting +50% and Davis playing like a prime AD is out of norm. Game against Kings would’ve been sealed if one of Alpi hook shot or KD three didn’t go in and out while opponents could not miss.

If they had a structure like Sabonis with De'Aaron Fox with Mike Brown.....the Kings were a 3-9th seed.

So they were not a bottom team.

A bunch of old stars, Sabonis injured + Doug Christie = Should be at least 12th Place.......

Have the players and the coaches lost the locker room?

They had one of the easiest schedules to start the season and lost a lot of games they should have won. Every team faces adversity, if they cant win through it, they just arent good enough. SAS lost Victor for a while they are still in 2nd place.

It's unclear between players and coaches who lost the key to the locker room

Ime said Ben had it, but Ben said he gave it to Holliday.

Some say Boban had it last?

    Either way it's a conundrum

If both the players and the coaches are under-peforming, that means it's a coaching problem. Coaching affects players. Players can't make coaches coach poorly.

If the players are underperforming and the coach has no history of such a thing, it's some of the players.

It can't be all the players, because if it's all the players then you struggle to break 20-30 wins in a season.

Let's not over react. Soon-to-be champions go through lulls once or twice a season, it's not unusual. You saw it with your own eyes, he took the #1 offensive rating (and #9 in TS% at the time) and he broke what didn't need fixing. He broke the offense to fix the defense. Now we're discovering we're simply a more talented offensive team than defensive (while Tari/DFS/FVV are out) and Ime's inner b*tch has to accept that or he will have the first underperforming team of his career and it will be purely due to his random bias.

This group of players are no longer all kids. Durant WILL call Ime out unlike Sengun, Jalen, Amen, etc. The "dad" card is done and that's why I wanted Durant here. Stone doesn't have the spine and Tilman doesn't have the bball knowledge to challenge Udoka. Durant OTOH probably knows offense better than Ime and is not afraid to call coaches out when they screw up. Hopefully it's done privately but I don't mind a little public argument if it's for the betterment of the team.

    Probably a lot of both.

I don't think the team is as bad as they have been last week but someone in the game thread said it, something definitely changed with Sengun. He was looking like and actually was an MVP candidate, not a good one, like #9 or #10 on the ladder, but now he's looking bummy.

If Sengun doesn't look like an all-star all this team has is KD as a consistent player. Bari and Amen are too inconsistent to fill that role and same for Reed.

We really miss Fred, he'd be able to fill in on these nights and keep things under control. You guys remember how bad the offense looked last year the moment Fred went out? Someone else probably had the right of it, Fred is really the guy that runs the offense.

I'm still on board to get CP3. Even if its 15 mins hopefully the team learns how to run an actual offense through him, hell, maybe he retires here and becomes an assistant coach under Ime next year if it works out.

Right now the entire offense is just give it to KD. Think the team is getting tired of it but the coach isn't changing it and maybe no one has the balls to tell KD he needs to move the ball a little more. I don't even blame KD for this, all great scorers are incredibly selfish, at least most of them are, a few outliers like Jokic and Lebron I guess.

Fred VanVleet was injured and shot terrible last season.

Playoffs was a miracle for Fred VanVleet, but he is a undersized SG.

Need a Head Coach that can strategizes on offense for the PG Reed Sheppard. If not this team is a 1st or 2nd Round Exit.

Amen Thompson should be a SF/PF

Jabari Smith as a C, Sengun off the floor

5 out offense. Easy driving for layups

PG Reed Sheppard, SG Kevin Durant, SF Tari Eason, PF Amen Thompson, C Jabari Smith

If you want 130 points, small ball is better in longer stretches of games.
