That's insane when you consider Amen can't really score in the half court. Sengun is a much better overall offensive player than Amen.
Is it? Then why have we been losing more games the more Reed plays? We are literally in the midst of our worst 10 game streak and it comes when Reed is getting more more and more minutes. Yall are missing something when you rely on +/- as proof or some sort of guiding principle.
I dont know why you debate people, you decide to omit any objective data and go off on your tangents. we get it, you have your preconceived notions and your goal is to try and piece whatever supporting points you can gather to conform to your narrative. You do this crap in th crypto thread and the D&D. Another clone of tallanvor or basso
Again you lack the ability to conduct a subgroup analysis. The rockets have also been drinking more water during this time. Ime has gotten on them more about bad play during this stretch. That clearly correlates too. it’s intellectual dishonesty and laziness I urge people not to waste their time with this dude. He’s been spending half his life arguing in the crypto thread despite people giving him the exact answers he desires ad nauseum @DonnyMost @Space Ghost
. Reed is playing 27 minutes per game during that "worst 10 game streak" and we're winning those minutes by >10 points per game. We've literally lost none of them. We're losing the other 22 minutes per game when Reed is on the bench with a net rating similar to the tanking Wizards. How is Reed magically causing us to get crushed in the minutes when he's on the bench? Is he not cheering hard enough?
I’m not going to waste my time proving why 19 straight +/- is an indicator but asked AI to crunch it for a simple T test Sample size (n): 18 Mean +/-: +10.7 Median: +8.5 Standard deviation: ~8.3 Every single game is positive. That alone is already rare. Null hypothesis (H₀) Reed’s on-court impact is neutral, i.e. true mean plus/minus = 0 Observed positives are just random noise. One-sample t-test vs 0 t-statistic: 5.49 p-value: 0.00004 Translation (plain English):If Reed’s presence truly had no real effect, the odds of seeing this strong a positive average across 18 games is ~0.004%. that’s literally what this dumbass is arguing about. I’m not even going to waste my time with adding more variables and running a regression etc
Sengun’s apparent “transition” to a perimeter player from dominant post player is troubling. If the stats say Reed’s defender in the corner isn’t going to leave Reed for post help, why wouldn’t you just spam post ups from that side of the floor. Is it possible Ime is a non-analytics guy and ignores the data.
I remember Reed won us a game on the bench by pointing to the refs at Batum's foot on the line. He clearly needs to do more of that in order to be considered a positive player.
Never said he wasnt. He's just not good enough at what he does to justify currently building the team around him. Amen can stay what he is and be a fine ancillary piece. Sengun staying where he is makes him a high value trade chip that diminishes over time. That's the difference.
He literally just played 34 minutes in the loss to the Kings.... did you watch the actual game or were you just watching the +/- ? He was playing on the court in the 4th quarter when the Kings made their 4th quarter run. DeRozan and Schroeder targeted him all game. Why are we acting like Reed hasn't been on the court in the 4th quarter when we've been blow these leads lately? He was there for the Kings and Pels, I was watching him in the 4th quarter. I'm not saying we lost because of Reed just pushing back on your implications. Your +/- numbers are telling what you want to believe instead of what's actually happening. The real issue is the entire lineup isn't a contender level with the current player availability and talent. No need to get emotional about Reed, let the dude develop.
I went from a Reed apologist, preaching patience with Reed last year and this early season to a dumbass who isn't overstating Reed's impact like the rest of you autists? Where did I ever state Reed is not having a positive impact? Weird how you need to make up argument I didn't make. My entire point is the issue is the roster. But I'm not going to sit here and prop up Reed just because you like to manipulate numbers to get the conclusion you prefer. You really going to sit there and like Reed's team leading 5 fouls and getting targeted all night by DeRozan and Schroeder had no effect?
Castle led Spurs outplay the No.1 seed in the west, while Sheppard looked like an idiot against the worst team in the west. Dude can't even score against some random guy called Dunn.
He’s not horrible but he’s nothing special. I just don’t see him being more than a spot up shooter with the occasional 15 footer. Do I see him being a top 3 player on a great team? Absolutely not.
