This could go in a number of threads because this decision to not authorize disaster funds to Colorado is in response to the state not going along with Trump's "pardon" of an election denier working as a county clerk who manipulated voting equipment to try and "prove" the "steal." Colorado rightly said no as presidential pardons only apply to federal crimes, not state ones. The administration appears to have also targeted Boulder's National Center for Atmospheric Research as part of the revenge effort.

Anyway, here's another example of playing stupid politics with disaster victims left to suffer for the ego of one very small man.

OK, sure. MAFFs are suppression tools, but not incredibly effective ones. They are a poor emergency backup to the tanker fleet and are a "24-hour" resource, meaning that it takes 24-hours after they are ordered for them to show up--and they come with a full contingent of military personnel including command, PR types, and assorted other support personnel, making them more expensive than even contracted air tankers. They have trouble flying low and slow enough under uneven terrain for their drops to be effective on many fires (same with the Very Large Air Tankers--VLATs), so you need to be careful about where you send them. Regardless of what one feels about MAFFs, citing their deployment during an incident is not an excuse to withhold recovery funds after the incident, including--absurdly--floods. Trump 1 and 2 are the only administrations in our history that play these games with disaster aid.

OK, Trump just announced a new class of ships, the Trump Class. Wants to build 20-30 of these and put nukes on them--surface Navy does not currently have nukes in part because surface ships are easy to sink--consider the Russian Black Sea fleet on the bottom from just a few aerial and underwater drones.

On top of all that, he said this:

"The US Navy will lead the design of these ships along with me, because I'm a very aesthetic person."

This guy wants the modern Navy to look like WWII battleships. He wants to do to the Navy what he has done to the White House.

    What could go wrong?

If anything, this understates how prevalent censorship has become. Given the current administration’s pattern of retaliation, public targeting, and institutional pressure, it’s reasonable to say that fear-driven self-censorship is now the more common form of censorship, even without explicit bans. That form is often the most dangerous, because nothing needs to be blocked or suppressed in public; ideas simply never get voiced in the first place.

Every dumb, previously unimaginable presidential story that comes from this man is like the anti-immigrant **** pile in South Park. A writhing, ignorant mess that requires delusion to sustain itself.

Republicans are good shape. It's not like Democrats will tie Trump around their necks or anything. (Sadly, that second sentence may be more true than not.)

Again the issue youre missing alongside @StupidMoniker is the FTC made the Paramount merger contingent on CBS installing a new editor and head of news who they knew would lean right wing. Now they got what they wanted which was the installed puppet is doing the bidding of the WH.

If you think for a second @Os Trigonum and others would be okay with a democratic admin approving a merger based upon them firing their editors to install a liberal then youre living in lala land.

None of these people have a shred of integrity. Wake up

I’m not missing that context. I’m choosing not to center the argument on CBS specifically, because the concern I’m raising exists even when you remove that case entirely. I’m talking about a broader pattern, one that is far more harmful to a free society.

i believe Bari Weiss reviewed it and, on Wed, approved its airing; then on Sat, she axed it.

But, the 11th hour change came after this had already happened, '60 Minutes' report
    yanked by Bari Weiss
was streamed on Canadian TV app

@astros123 Oh no, tell me more about Hunter Biden and censorship? You're a piece of **** no matter your background. A real man explains his positions and why he takes them. You hide behind literature and show your weakness with every post.

We had more oil drilling under biden than any other admin in history. He approved more permits than almost anyone in history. On the other hand Trump is canceling all wind projects and eliminating all subsides for solar/wind. What a braindead example which makes no sense.

The fact that you were somehow a "ivy league professor" yet you're dumber than a bag of rocks really speaks volume of the education system in America.
