    FX is preparing to say goodbye to Staten Island’s favorite coven of vampires.

    The cable outlet will bring its comedy What We Do in the Shadows to a close with its forthcoming sixth season. The series is entering the back half of a two-season renewal that will take the show to its conclusion.

    A spinoff of Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement’s 2014 movie of the same name, What We Do in the Shadows follows a group of vampires (played by Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou and Mark Proksch), their human familiar (Harvey Guillén) and an envoy from the Vampiric Counsel (Kristen Schaal) who live together in the New York borough.

    Season five, which concluded in August, followed Guillermo (Guillén) as he struggled to tell Nandor (Novak) about having been made partially vampiric, while at the same time Laszlo (Berry) uses Guillermo’s blood to perform ghastly experiments with animals. (The latter subplot featured in one of The Hollywood Reporter’s best TV episodes of 2023.)

    What We Do in the Shadows is the second long-running FX/FXX series to announce an end date recently. FXX’s animated spy comedy Archer wrapped after 14 seasons with a finale event on Dec. 17.

    Clement and Waititi executive produce What We Do in the Shadows with showrunner Paul Simms, Sam Johnson and Garrett Basch.

    In this essay, I will substantiate my contention that the Wendy’s breakfast “Eggman” advertisement is in honor of the style of humor employed by writers for David Letterman’s Top Ten Lists where the real joke is that the final punchline payoff is intentionally written to be disappointing.     It's shockingly funny and a total standalone from the movie. Really worth watching.

    I feel happy about this. Let's end it when the show is up. Top level comedy performed by some incredibly funny people.

    They absolutely have to have an actual, in-person Wesley Snipes cameo before ending it.

    damn! i feel like this show could go on for years...theres so much they can do with it and the actors are all hilarious.

    for me, its already gone down as one of the greatest comedy series of all time. five seasons of consistent hilarity and also highly re-watchable.

    New trailer is out.....

    FX has premiered the trailer for the sixth and final season of its mockumentary vampire comedy “What We Do in the Shadows” which is scheduled to premiere on October 21st on FX and Hulu. In the new season, Laszlo tries to revive the dead, Nandor starts a conquest, and a new vampire is introduced.
