I wish it wasn’t so, but looks to me like the Jags are peaking at the right time. Lawrence looked like the cover boy for mediocrity his first few seasons, but now it looks like he’s Liam Coen’s latest resurrection. Can Colts beat Jags in Indy……possibly…..but I wouldn’t bet on it. Certainly not the Titans in week 18
Perhaps but I cannot shake this feeling I get when I watch the disjointed and tepid play on the offense that something just isn't right. By this point in the season we should be seeing a bit more polished offense. Instead it's largely hit or miss for the most part. And CJ just doesn't look like he's improving at all and that's on DeMeco whose entire approach is for the defense to carry this team no matter what. Yesterday, we saw the results of that as cracks are starting to appear (as well as injuries). I'm sorry but there is simply no way that a 2-12 Raiders' team - a team that I've seen being literally manhandled into the ground - should have been kicking their butts like that because they weren't "ready to play". Seriously???
Well, they haven't so far and all credit must go to Cohen. I'll be the first to admit that I though he was a joke after seeing this: . But he has completely changed the football operation down in Jacksonville. These aren't the same old Jags After watching them dismantle Denver, they are for real.
I’ve been waiting all season for them to beat themselves, but unfortunately, they haven’t, while the Texans seem to try every game.
As others have pointed out, the Raiders beat the Patriots (12-3), lost 10-7 and 24-17 to the Broncos (12-3), took the Jaguars (11-4) to OT and lost on a two point conversion fail 29-30, and lost to the Bears (11-4) 24-25. That doesn’t excuse the Texans for a poor performance. I’m not arguing it was good or defending it, I just don’t expect that to be the same effort the rest of the season. The offense has been inconsistent all season, yesterday was one of the more offensive performances. Luckily they got their act together just enough in the second half. And thanks to the refs as well. Yes, it’s the NFL, if you don’t come ready to play then even really bad teams are going to give you problems.
That’s great that your perspective caps at one week- matches pretty much everyone else’s in a game thread. The same Jags got beat by Davis Mills, and the Texans were on their way to handling Denver before Stroud was knocked out by a dirty hit in the first quarter. What sucks is not potentially having to play Jax (the Texans own them), but what them winning the division could mean for the Texans’ first round matchup.
You think? And sometimes those streaks end after winning a Super Bowl. Being hot at the right time is huge.
Ersery and Trent brown both went out this game. They’re both going to be out for this upcoming game against the chargers
Yep, and they gave Seattle all they could handle a week ago. The only question is what do we want? A Colts loss tonight gives Texans an easier path to clinching a playoff spot, but takes the possibility of the division away from the Colts while putting their playoff hopes on life support, and we want a motivated Colts team at home next week vs The Jags
The beauty of playing on Saturday is that if the Texans beat LA, then we can root for the Colts vs the Jags. Division is still in play. If the Texans lose to the Chargers, then the division is out of the question, and we can root for the Jags against the Colts, as that will clinch the Playoffs and may allow us to rest starters week 18.
Swipe Logan Brown from Seahawks IF he is willing to leave their PS (not sure any Seahawks want to leave after that last game)
I was playing around with the ESPN playoff machine and it’s pretty clear that we should be gigantic fans of the Bills, 49ers, Ravens the next two games. Of course, if Texans win Saturday that gets us in.
What's crazy is that he is old AF, he`s kinda fat, hasn't played in 5 years and has the WORST throwing motion I have ever seen but the man is SMART as hell and commands that offense like no one else..............kind of cool to see him do what he did, yea they lost, but old man Rivers is one smart cookie.....................I would love for CJ to have that type of presence in the huddle and at the line, Rivers doesn't have all the tools anymore and did it with his experience and savvy, there is something to be said for that
Yeah, but if Texans win Saturday, Colts are eliminated and could turn to Riley Leonard vs Jags. That’s why I called last night’s Colts loss a dilemma.
