There must be a reason Mario Elie has never gotten a head coaching gig in the NBA despite being an assistant on several teams. You can't hire coaches based on the players they were on the court.
We don't need mentality, Ime is pure mentality, we need competent coordination on both ends. There are extremely simple and fundamental errors being made like crazy.
Every team have offensive and defensive assistant coaches so when we keep loosing close games and specially b2b even against bottom feeder is a sign that we need some coaching change. Our offensive coordinator is piss poor awful and cannot punish anything and when we’re at OT and opponent spent 4 mins attacking Reed, just swap him out for Tari or Okogi and let them come up with new tactic.
I mean could we try at least one pre-switch? I've seen the Warriors AGGRESSIVELY do multiple effort preswitch / switchouts within single plays for Curry when he's being hunted... it works. How about having players attempt to fight through screens when Reed is hunted? How about not switching and going under the screen on poor shooters? He's being auto switched with zero fight or thoughtfulness.
Yea I’ve been trying to have Ime’s back but after this and the Pelican loss I can’t give him anymore passes. I fully put this L mainly on him because you’re on a back to back and you choose to basically play an 8 (basically 7 if you look at Clint’s minutes) man rotation, like it’s the playoffs and not having the best lineups. Why didn’t Holiday get any PT and why is 37 year old KD playing 47 minutes? I get this is Tari’s first game in over a month and you don’t wanna risk anything with him but you can’t play Durant nearly 50 minutes after a back to back, play Tate in spots if you have too Also this situation with Adams not playing back to backs need to be figured out as well, no way should we be paying this dude what we’re paying him just to play half of the season and miss back to backs. I truly feel a few of our losses is because of him sitting out
When you’re holding a roster the whole NBA is jealous of, full of young pieces and veterans every team wants, and you still can’t stop the Pelicans from erasing a 25-point deficit or losing to a team like the Kings, the blame falls solely on Ime. He’s failing to maximize the talent in his hands.
I'd rather take a stab at Sam Cassell, but yea right now seems pretty certain that Ime isn't the one to take this team to the promised land.
I think Stone and Udoka do not co-exist that well on the longerer term basis, both are not known developers of talent. And yes, they struck out on a generational Wemby...... The Quest and therefore question begs......Do you go out and find that generational guy or just trade for aging stars....... The Coaching staff should fit your playing style and model......I think a combination of Will Hardy, Mike Malone, Mazzulla does not sound bad. It does not have to be Mazzulla and Malone per se but cheaper versions of them. I would buy all the staff, film session, video coordination guy, janitors, cleaning lady, down to the guy giving out food.......of the SPURS.
