Who was the last OC that Texans fans didn’t hate? Bob? Slowic? Pep Hamilton? Caley? Kubiak? Tim Kelly? Godsey? All of them, grown to hate. I can’t think of one.
I think any time the offense isn't humming along, the first target seems to always be the OC. For a while in the peak Schaub years, Kubiak was pretty insulated from criticism but even then there was a minority that hated him for being too simplistic. It's basically a bottom line thing. As an OC, be one of the best offenses in the league, or you're **** at your job. Doesn't matter if you don't have the personel or they screw up and can't execute on the field. Everybody's a backseat driver and sees something they'd do different, unless everything works.
My point exactly, So all an OC can do is stick to the system he believes in and in Caley's system it takes awhile to learn. CJ is slowly but surely learning the system and to take what's there. Caley's actually done a pretty good job IMHO since the system is new, he's missing his stud RB and he's working with a Rookie LT/ An OG that's really a RT/ Basically a rookie C/ A castoff reject at RG/ A long in the tooth RT that is playing on a bad leg, has a broken finger and has movement issues because of weight/injury. This doesn't even take into account the te TE position cant block worth a crap. Yeah, add some talent and I think Caley will start to shine.
