He's saying you dont have to work as hard. Keep in mind this is from a guy who led his team to a couple of chips. He's saying if he had the same team now he would run the league.

I was pleased to see Reed playing down the stretch in a tight game on the road despite an abysmal shooting start. It won't always go well, but he needs some trial by fire minutes before we get to the post season.

Okogie continues to endear himself to me. Reminds me a bit of Mario Elie.

I see the same thing. I realize that a KD contested jumper is still an efficient shot, maybe even more efficient than whatever shot his open teammate might get -- but it's not strictly about efficiency. At any level of basketball, regardless of the distribution of individual talent, it's detrimental to chemistry and morale to ignore open teammates. Gotta keep the ball moving.

This point about the shot selection is the perfect post for this thread because even the briefest look into the stats and the numbers show this to be objectively false

I'm risking an extra-forum topic here, but the Spurs are a slightly better version of what the Rocks were last season. Pretty scary thought...

The Spurs are already in mid season form but the season is another 4-5 months long...anything can happen.

59 games have not been played yet. 2 1/2 months played.

Any date yet on DFS coming active? Or a general idea? Don't think you can trade him per NBA dictate so what's the hold-up?

Mario Elie was more clutch than Okogie...the only reason Okogie is still starting is because Ime doesn't fully trust Reed's defense.

Yeah nah it's not. Having Amen and Reed stand in the corners while Alpie initiates the offence at the logo aint it. Will be found out in the playoffs just like Giannis.

I see a team that lacks fine tuning. It looks like a pick up game of 5 players playing. We NEVER earn anything from the system just working, flow, or being. Every basic thing is taxed on talent.

Hopefully Okogie doesn’t start when Tari comes back. Poor rebounder. Can’t take defenders off the dribble. This team lacks a player that can get to the rim in the starting lineup. Eason is the best man for the job at the 3 spot.

Point Amen is also not going well. He's working too hard as a primary ballhandler on offense and it's compromising his defense.

We need a qualified guard in the starting lineup. We also need another healthy guard on the roster.

I think a trade for TJ McConell would help us. Jose Alvarado would also fit well here. If the Grizzlies are open to trades, Cam Spencer is one of the league's best 3 point shooters, can dribble the ball and is on a minimum deal. He would be worth a first-round pick and would greatly improve spacing.

Ime is not a good offensive coach but not having a PG in the starting lineup and starting 3 below-average distance shooters is making offense hard.

Okogie is shooting at a good percentage but still not being guarded much on the 3-point line.

We need better ballhandling and 3-point shooting when we play really good teams. We'll play good teams in the playoffs.

Amen is the current X-factor. I think we are further away from "point Amen" but still some distance away from "viable playmaker Amen" due to the lack of shooting.

Apparently the pronunciation is quite different, which I would say is a ....good...thing.
I too am genuinely not hating, Alpi absolutely IS friggin great, lovely, beautiful, undoubtedly, his future is unlimited. And this has been a learning experience for me.
    Go Rockets!

NO took away the KD iso. The other 4 starters and/or Adams couldn't score.

Reed had a bad 2nd half in which he didn't do much. Will get blamed for loss even though he was on the bench for most of the time the Rockets got their asses handed to them.

Tough loss against the Pels. We lost the momentum in the second half and that's basketball. The absence of Tari and DFS (both rotation players coming into this season) has really been felt on the defensive end as we've been getting killed by wings lately.

Sengun is still clutch but he either gets tunnel vision or worse gets main character syndrome. Twice in a row where Sengun forced a bad shot/ bad decision on a final possession.

Let me give you a based eye test.
Even Pelicans (a tanking team) fans manage to fill the arena to the rafters. Rockets fans do not. And this is supposed to be a big-market team.

Pelicans are not a tanking team, they don't even have their own pick this year lol. They want to win as many games as possible.
