Gerald Young was a pretty good centerfielder with the glove before he found cocaine.

I'm thinking just by watching a little bit of Cole that he's a really good athlete that will be a solid Varsho/Reynolds type CF. (Who would you compare Cole too?) As far as the bat goes, I see Cole as an Adam Dunn lite type hitter with really good speed on the basepaths. Also how would you feel about Cam moving to CF because Dana hinted about moving him there?

Cole has pretty good walk rates in the minors. I see Cam improving, Walker with an .800 OBP in the 2nd half was very solid at getting on base. (The oblique injury probably had a lot to do with his issues in the 1st half) So Diaz is the only guy that I'm worried about when it comes to getting on base at a high clip and getting 20-25 homers from the catcher position makes his OBP something I could live with.

There was never any talk about moving Cam to CF

It was reported that he was taking practice reps in CF because they felt he may be able to back up and possibly play there occasionally.

Making him a regular or primary starter was only mentioned by fans (like me lol)

The fans who would consider putting Paredes at 2B, but not Cam in CF, should stop following baseball.

    Funny

I heard Joe Espada say Paredes can play 2B last week.

I have never heard Joe Espada or Dana Brown say Cam can play CF.

Who knows? It was a hypothetical post - but my guess is someone not on the roster.

Dana Brown wanted Cam to spend the off season practicing in CF. That was before his extended slump, so I don’t know if that has changed. If Brown thinks Cam can play CF - then he can.

The fewer lineup changes needed the better as long as little Joe is leading the way

I do remember reports that Cam was taking reps in CF early last year in hopes that he could play there occassionally. I also remember it reported that it would only be as an occasionally starter but RF would remain his primary position. I just never heard the verdict.

My post was in response to the one saying people who think Isaac can play 2B but Cam can't play CF should quit following baseball - a completely ridiculous statement.

I understand. I’m not taking a side - I just know last year early in the season and around the all star break I was told Brown thought he could play CF and wanted him to play out there in the Winter. This was before Smith’s second half collapse, so it’s possible they have backed off so he isn’t overwhelmed… but that part I just don’t know.

I want him to fix his swing path more. He needs to lift balls in the air.
