Ime didn't coach a single game in 22-23, are you really making the argument that for those three players, a single year under Udoka was enough to irreversibly change the arc of their careers?

I think you're really reaching on the Grant Williams injury; heck, he played more games under Joe Mazzulla than Ime, and also had half-seasons on the Mavericks and Hornets before blowing out his knee. Would be like blaming Nick Nurse for FVV injuring his knee this offseason, cause-and-effect is just too separated for me. You might as well blame Ime for Jayson Tatum's Achilles injury at that point.

For Robert Williams, seems really clear to me that he was already injury prone before his year with Ime; if the way Ime played him contributed to his long term issues, it's because he simply was not meant to hold up to the rigors of the NBA; Ime tried to play him rotation minutes and he couldn't do it.

For me, a full season is anything approaching the 65 game mark that the NBA has set for end-of-season award eligibility, and they were healthy/available for the playoffs, when the games actually matter. I tend to give a little extra leeway to seasons before they implemented the criteria, since load management was a lot more common then.

But yes, pedantically, Marcus Smart played 61 games under Joe Mazzoula the year after Ime, averaging about the same workload. He also consistently played hurt under Brad Stevens before Ime. The Celtics did not originally intend to trade him for Porzingis, they only pivoted after Brogdon failed the physical. So the Celtics certainly were not treating him as damaged goods, they just lucked into it. I find it really hard to say that Ime specifically was the catalyst for Smart's injuries, when there were so many other factors, including him just getting older and playing a ton of NBA minutes.

I see gimps of how fans that had Ben Simmons felt watching him on the sideline in street clothes. I think we might have better chance of finding Bigfoot over seeing both Tari and DFS on the floor at this point

Shin? That doesn't sound good. Probably the same one as before. Contract declining by the day.

I’m open to trade Tari + Capala for Keon Ellis at this point. Kings wants defensive wing and Tari has value in the league. Honestly half decent big center from G-League will do what Cabala is doing

There's no way I'm signing this guy unless it's to a heavily incentive laden contract that requies him to actually play in some ****ing games. And he would obviously never go for that, so I think they would be better off to move him. It's a shame, but he doesn't seem capable of staying healthy.

Of course he should have signed it. It’s just that he only looked at his potential to base his worth and never considered to factor in him being injury prone AF.

This is a lot of excuse making when there's a larger pattern. It's always possible to nitpick withiin the seams of a pattern, but that doesn't disprove the pattern.

Yes, of course coaches can break players bodies down such that it persists after they leave. Thibs and JVG are famous for this. MDA to some extent too. It's not a new topic.
