Well, that sucks. My fave Houston news anchor of all time (not that I really watch the news anymore, but still...). R.I.P. Mr. Ward.
It's been a rough few days here. Dave seemed like he was part of the natural firmament of Houston for decades. I guess he is really there now. RIP.
I ran camera for the morning news with Tom Koch and Gina Gaston back in the summer of '94. Tom was a nice guy. I wasn't around Dave Ward much, but I remember him being friendly to everyone. We watched Live At 5 every day at our house growing up. Dave, Shara, Marvin and Ed Brandon were a great team. It's amazing how long they were there together.

Thursday, Dec. 18: Public visitation open to all at George H. Lewis & Sons Funeral Directors at 1010 Bering Dr., Houston, TX 77057 from 11 am-2 pm and 4-8 pm Friday, Dec. 19: Funeral service open to the public at 12 pm at St. Martin's Episcopal Church at 717 Sage Rd., Houston, TX 77056. ABC13 will carry the funeral live on television and streaming platforms.
