ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Nuggets 12/15/2025

First off, this was bad officiating. Denver was not losing this game with these refs.

Ime is not half bad a coach as some of you make him be. Silas was bad. With Ime the Rox have a winning chance every single game, it is obvious the players trust him.

As for that last play, I think that Sengun was supposed to be the facilitator. In the heat of the moment, with a hostile crowd, his mental clock may have deducted the inbounding time. He likely panicked. This game deserved a better last shot.

 

Need to be better, but when a coach plays 6 guys basically then tired legs (KD), no blood in the brain (Sengun) and a coach who seriously lacks vision on offense (Ime) are the result. Not mad at all, only at Capela for playing lazily and our defense on Murray and 3pt shooting in general. Problem last year, problem this year. Coaches haven’t learned **** from last year!

This team can only make it to the 2nd round with DFS and Tari.

 

Disappointing loss, but I’m not worried about it. Bad officiating, Steven Adams with maybe his worst game of the year, no Tari Eason yet again, and you take a very good Denver team to OT on the road. You can't win them all. This is a good team. Whatever...

 

Just woke up after my alarm went off and I am still annoyed

 

Ime drew up a play in the OKC loss for Sengun to take the last shot there too. I don't know why he think Sengun is a great shooter

 

Rockets had couple opportunities to close it out but between turnovers, missed shots, and missed FT’s in these critical moments they lost this one. Refs were bad and played a part but that game was still winnable. Defense lapsed at times. Sengun played off Jokic many times allowing a 3. Thompson completely neglected Murray letting him come off a downscreen on a wide open 3. And Sheppard kept getting torched by Murray

 

Ime isnt the issue here. I mean I guess he is for depending on the wrong players but Sengun feels like Luka to me at times. Whines constantly, makes a bunch of mistakes that he makes up for in the clutch and it tricks people into thinking he's clutch even though he's the reason we were there in the first place.

Jokic outclassed him again by a mile.

 

He’s the reason we were there in the first place….meaning we wouldn’t have been competitive against the Nuggets without him. Y’all need to get a grip.

 

Reed had a chance to be the hero last night, but he came up short. His reluctance to drive into the paint limits his impact offensively. Critical missed free throw and missed three pointers is what I remember from his game last night. I’m glad he’s shooting the ball, but he’s got to learn to penetrate and draw fouls.

 

Just get a top 3 seed and go from there. We need more games while gaining more experience. If we can add a piece that helps then great... if not just make thr most of this roster and go for it.

 

starting to think it’s in his contract to take last second shots. I can’t explain why you have Durant and Reed on the floor.

Yes .. they lost to both OKC and the Nuggets in double ot and ot respectively

Should have won both games. How you reached this conclusion? I am always pessimistic about Rockets teams, but this is a very good team and I have set my bar very high.

@Jontro is Nostradamus. He said we play the Denver’s too much and was warning us.

 

yea some people are just bugging lol. This is a good team and we played a good game. Got effed by the refs mainly and still had some chances.

 

Honestly it was a good game

I'm not going to sweat these really tight ones against great teams too much, in the regular season. I'd love to win them, but we're showing a lot of fight, and last night or against OKC in the opener, we just needed one thing to break our way and it didn't happen. That's basketball for you.

 

Yea I was way more upset about some of the other losses. Last night I was actually more encouraged with the resilience to keep fighting and getting back into it each time it seemed like we fell too far behind. Each time they came back despite the bad officiating. I don’t know, sucks to lose but really feel kinda good after this one for some reason. Jokic interview after the game they asked him about us and he kept saying how good and tough we are and if we meet in the playoffs it would be really “interesting” lol
