He hasn’t been. His turnovers are a real problem and having a great 2 point shooter was not what this team needed. All we really needed was get FVV off the ball and Jalen off the team.

 

... but point taken. PG is typically the most skilled position on the court, and shooting is the most fundamental skill in basketball. Ime is betting against science.

 

In that regard, Ime will end up right, but he’s not the coach to get him there.

 

Durant is what kept them in the game in the first place throughout 3 Quarters......I doubt Amen and Sengün could have done that after Denver runs.....

Yep, because there’s exactly zero offensive geniuses on the Rox coaching staff. Hopefully the Rox follow the Texans lead and shake up coaching responsibilities sooner rather than later.

Durant is still a great basketball player. I’d like to say his issues so far are with the system, but we don’t have a system. He kept us in the game, but his turnovers and disappearing act in more than just this game have been alarming. He really played with defensive intensity tonight and played 44 mins. How long is he going to last? I’m beginning to think Durant wasn’t the greatest idea for this coach. It just gave him a different crutch to lean on and this one is not as careful with the ball.

 

After watching the end a few more times, I blame Ime 100%.

The play they drew up was incredibly stupid and REALLY easy to defend.

They have a poor passer who is a good shooter bringing the ball in.

Your best shooter is set to be nothing but a decoy on the far corner

Your future HOFer catches a double team

Your hot shooter is initially standing around in the near corner just watching..then he moves towards the ball bringing an extra defender into the only spot you have anyone open....a non-shooting big man.

If you're the defense, you get to play 5 on 4 and there's no real movement, no screen to get someone open, nothing.

This ****ing dipshit called a timeout to draw this dogshit up.

 

I only just finished watching the game, and I am very very hesitant in ever saying this: but no doubt the officials decided that.

2 phantom calls on Amen.
Shocking.

At the end of regulation the OBVIOUS call was "incidental contact, Denver ball"
Nobody would have been upset with giving the players the chance to decide the game.



Apart from those 2 calls, the officiating was very poor. Jones was wrestlemania all game

 

Sometimes you play one of the league's best teams on the road and you lose despite playing well overall.

This was one of those times.

There is too much overreaction on this thread.

We just took a contender to overtime on the road. We're still a contender. We're flawed but so is every other team in the NBA outside of the state of Oklahoma.

Alpi played Jokic almost even. We have our star. We need better contributions from our bench and better shooting. Tari and DFS will solve those needs.

We're going to finish in the top-4 of the West this season. We're going to be Ok.

 

Regrettably, there's a lot of pain in your future if you think this team is a contender.

You state many correct things.

But the fact the Rockets will finish 4 is a false hope. This team isn't a contender with Ime's incompetence at the helm.

He's raised the floor.

We're seeing game after game against good teams, he isn't raising the ceiling with his many deficiencies.

 

It's obvious that this team can't defend Murray, SGA's or other big skilled guards. Capela is useless.
DFS and Tari might be able to help, but a trade is needed.

 

On this we agree. I guess we are both stupid.

 

Proud of the team for forcing overtime. It looked like we were toast. Tough loss but we’ll get there. Denver is just as scared of us.
