Take everything with a grain of salt. The East is a junior varsity conference.

Yup. That's why Pistons are killing it, they've played more against the East than anyone.

Allow 7 ft tanks in........built like the Dream, Mourning, Shaq.

No more Coaching Challenges, no more arbitrary breaks, stoppage of time.......

    ???

I think this may be the strongest the league has been in a while. A lot of old guys still doing well at the time of the younger players taking over. Parity may be getting worse as stars and depth are now needed to compete. Rebuilding teams typically play young players who are just not NBA-ready. Just really tough right now not to be a good team.

In a couple of years, Curry, Butler, Durant, Harden, and Lebron will either be gone or a lot less effective. Don't like the league now...wait until then.

I think it is the phase that the younger players are taking over, 21-23 year olds playing like vets......I dig it, I am luvin it.

No its pretty weak overall when compared to prior years

Just look at how a guy named Zoo Bots feasted against us. League peaked 2017-18 when we played KD worriers

I do feel like we're in a transition stage where the younger superstars are emerging and most of them haven't quite peaked yet and most of the age 30+ ones are on the downswing of their careers and will only get worse year-over-year (except possibly Jokic who just turned 30 and seems better than ever). That said, I think the league is set to explode with talent over the next 5 or so years. Hopefully we will have a couple of those top 5-7 players, but there's going to be a lot of stiff competition, so we'll have to wait and see how things turn out.

Agreed. Adam Silver wants high octane offense...he designed the rules to favor more offense, cant even touch a shooter! Thats why Shai is cooking the league right now

There are five teams in the West better than anyone, in the LEAST, save the Pistons. The Knicks are pretty good too. But, the power resides out west.

The push off into the Dylan Harper foul where he clearly tried to land on Harper's feet was egregious.

i mean there's a reason OKC is 25-2 or whatever.. and it isn't because they are the best team of all-time...

They are the best organized organization with the best GM.....and a Top 5 Coach despite being a Bottom 5 small market.

Presti negotiated this version of the CBA, so he knows the In and Outs well.

The top of the western conference is extremely strong. There are four teams with prime age all time greats as their centerpiece (like, four guys who will retire as at least top 25-30 all time players, some higher), surrounded by solid to elite supporting casts.

The rest of the league is extremely weak. 5 playoff teams crippled by full season devastating injuries, and this upcoming draft class makes it the last big tank year for a while.

The east is weaker than ever before but the league itself has so much more talent than before as the old guard aka Lebron etc are still good and young guys headed by a healthy Wemby are starting to dominate.

Think about Clippers look so bad but I would argue that team is better than the 2018 Rockets team that missed 23 straight three pointers. And that team got 1st seed. There isnt even that much drop off in Harden:

    30/8/9
    27/5/8

Not bad after like 7 yrs.

The argument has to be that defense is weak, because offensively players and teams have never been better on paper.

Players are making shots more than ever. Is it because defense is historically weak, or offense is historically great?

    Out of 80 seasons

Efficiency (TS%) and offensive rating are currently ranked #1 in nba history, assists are ranked #2, TOV are the 12th lowest, free throw per FGA is in the bottom 20, fouls per game bottom 20, FG% (despite taking the 2nd highest 3PA's in history) is 18th highest ever recorded.

I think it's possible that offensively players and offenses have evolved to be more talented than ever. It's probable that if you transported OKC into the 80's/90's that they would absolutely wreck the Bulls/Lakers/Celtics.

Reminds me more of the early 2000s when it was the Lakers vs whatever mid squad the East produced. That was my least favorite era of the NBA, as the class of Dream, MJ, Barkley, etc were severely aged or already retired. Snooze fest with awful ****ing uniforms on top of it. :)
