The Spurs have all the right bodies up and down their lineup to make the Rockets fight for every basket: Harper (who doesn't play much), Vassell, Johnson, Champagnie, Barnes, and Castle. They match up quite well--if not better than OKC--with our long frontline (Jabari, Tari, Durant, and Amen).

Fox has the quickness to get off a shot anytime he wants. As much as I like Sheppard, advantage: Spurs. They also have Wemby (and the NBA) on their side. He doesn't need help against Sengun, and offensively, guarding Wemby with a smaller man means you get killed on the glass. Just ask the Thunder.

Offensively, if Sengun can't generate baskets 15 feet away, those are going to be very long games. Durant can keep us in games and serve as a steadying influence. But is that enough? The weight of winning will fall on our young forwards to make perimeter shots. They'd better improve a whole lot before the playoffs, or it's a quick exit.

 

If harden had SGA’s whistle in the playoffs , he wouldve had a ring by now. The league just loves SGA and the thunder

 

We'll see if SGA can still be the man if the refs swallow the whistle during the playoffs.

Harper/Vassell/Johnson/Champa/Barnes/Castle are the defenders we should be scared of? We're one of the best offenses in the NBA when we have injuries and lack chemistry. Other than the Thunder and the Pistons, no one is going to make our life hard.

They match up well with our frontline you say but other than Wemby their length is terrible. They might as well call them the raptor arms and wemby. No one has wingspans like us. We have at least 5 starting calibre players with 7ft+ wingspan. We're the one who comes knocking, as Walter White once said.

Fox is going to be head to head with Amen which means he's done. He doesn't have the speed advantage and his defender is twice his size.

On Sengun I agree with you but that's an Ime problem which is totally in our control to fix. In the same way he let Sengun die in the matchup against Jokic by putting him in a stationary head to head on the interior, he can screw that up with Wemby too. Pace is critical also, Jokic and Wemby don't excel in pace. No post play against those two. I think people are forgetting Wemby has bad games just like everyone else. Don't forget just a couple weeks ago Derek Queen and Kevon Looney locked him up. He's not Shaq. He relies on jumpers a lot, and jumpers by nature have consistency swings.

Honestly I'm not worried at all. I've spent some time on Spurs boards discussing Wemby and the squad around him. You are more complimentary of their roster than 95% of their fans. I think a little deeper digging is warranted. None of these guys can guard KD when it's playoff time and chemistry is no longer an issue.

 

We already saw that they won’t. He flopped his way past denver basically, they lose the series if he’s fairly officiated so that’s not something we should bank on.

Yeah, I don't have high hopes, but one can dream. It's doubly annoying because OKC gets to play very physical defense, while the opposing team isn't allowed to guard SGA without sending him to the line every third possession.

 

nba should follow wrestling's example and classify as entertainment.

I think all Rockets coaches should always assume the whistle is against us in our games and plan accordingly at this point. We've been through the Warriors, you know they'll definitely be trying to push their new dynasty team with the Thunder now.

 

I think the only way to fight it is by being just as physical on the offensive end. We've got players like Amen who should have the tools to go through contact in a way where it's undeniable and not blowing the whistle would tip the fix. Similarly KD actually gets a superstar whistle, I actually don't think they'd **** with him at this stage of his career to the same levels of Harden in his time year

 

Thats true but I still think them dominating like this is not good for th eleague. Unless the are going for juggernaut in the west vs juggernaut in the east and they are trying build up detroit too.

 

This sounds like cope my guy. We lost and they were out one of their stars. We arent on the same level as those teams yet. If we beat them and have a better record than them then I will say we are better.
