Spoiler Saw some nerdy guy's youtube video. Based on a bunch of indirect evidence, like the specific Georgia O'Keefe painting she took, he made a case that Carol might be faking it to lure the hivemind back so she can go back to work on undoing the change. Also, he makes an argument that Manusos might be dying real soon. It's all in the video, if you have half an hour to watch some dude nerd out, he explain why he thinks that is what is being coming. Video dude loves to hear the sound of his own voice, but he makes a detailed argument that that is what is being foreshadowed. Also, fun fact - Apparently Vince Gilligan has said the name Sturka was taken from an old Twilight Zone episode - Third From The Sun. Not sure how much the events of the episode apply to the show, and how much it is just an homage, but it is an interesting intersection. There really do appear to be a bunch of artsy director things going on in the show, like choosing specific color palates to indicate specific associations, or foreshadow certain moods or outcomes. Stuff that isn't readily apparent if you just watch the show on the surface level.
It could still go a few directions........I like slow stuff now having transitioned to enjoying arthouse movies in my late 20s.
This show has everything. Hand grenades, nice zombies, lesbians, drones, a bison, soylent green and so much more.
I'm not necessarily complaining about Pluribus. I like it for what it is and it doesn't bother me that it is a slow burn. But the 2nd episode of Breaking Bad involved a body getting dissolved in acid in a tub, and then that tub falling through the ceiling and splattering the dissolved person everywhere. I can't honestly remember what critics said about Breaking Bad early (I didn't start watching until 3 or 4 seasons had already aired), but I think we are talking different levels of "slow" here.
It’s hard to have a ‘fast’ plot when 99.99x% of people are just agreeable NPCs. A lot of the exposition is in the film shots themselves. You have to pay attention to what’s going on the background.
