Eye test says today CJ looked more like rookie CJ. Moved in the pocket better, made quick reads and accurate throws. His first completion to Nico was beautiful. Glad he looks like he's turned a corner and Caley/OL are getting better (pls no more Dare trick plays Nicki).
Oh weird. Stroud got to play the 25th ranked defense coming in today… you know the same avg defense the likes of Drake Maye, Jordan Love, and Co have gotten to play on average the whole year. Great performance!
Thought it was funny that Caserio, unprompted, referenced the Nico going out of bounds as an uncredited TD to Nico. He should be at 18 TDs. Plus would have feasted like he did in 24' against that injured Bills front. The fake Oilers is a blowout score. Around 24 TDs with 7 ints. add an extra int for good measure. 24 Tds and 8 ints. That's a 97 rating with no running game and no more legit front sevens that turn our OL into dumb dumbs like some of the posters 'evaluating' qbs. I have no doubt if Arizona still had their stud Zach Allen, we don't move the ball as well. It all comes down to that. .
Yep. If he keeps playing like he did today against better defenses we could win it all. No turnovers is the key. Let our defense do the rest Of course that all depends on if Caley can get his head out of his as* and get more creative in the red zone.
Not only that, but that was probably the most consistently clean pocket he's had all season. Amazing what that does for a quarterback.
CJ looked great, but this offensive scheme IMO is so vanilla............maybe we have some wrinkles if we get in the post season. The Red Zone was better but still very blah, that trick play between CJ`s legs was creative and Marks finished it up It appears CJ is learning this offense and was super-efficient and to echo Deb`s point NO TURNOVERS is the key with positive yards on first down......I wonder if Nick is creative and gives CJ a new contract before he`s due for a discounted rate like he did for Nico...........smaller yearly value but more guaranteed?
I do think its funny, because his tape today will not be any different than it was against Indy when people were thrashing him. Dude is a sniper from the pocket when he isn't getting blasted each drop back. I will say, he did have impeccable poise. Maybe best we have seen this year.
Protection has been good and Stroud has been much more accurate lately. If we can figure out/fix the red zone issues this is a Super Bowl level team.
