I saw the first episode for free. Is it worth it to sign up for AppleTV to continue the season? I swear I heard something about a 100% rating yesterday.
I would say Apple TV+ is worth a couple of months based on their crop of very good shows. You can get the first month free anyway.
Pluribus I think only has 9 episodes this season. I’ll probably wait for episode 7 to appear and do a month at the $5.99. I was on AppleTV a few months back so I’ve seen the other shows. The only other new stuff I’m aware of recently is a new season of “The Morning Show”. Are you’ll enjoying it or not? I can blow it off.
After 7 episodes, I'm trying to rationalize why this show has such extreme hype from critics. It isn't terrible and I'll finish the season, but it sure ain't super dee duper either. The Popcornmeter is only 69% and I don't think audiences will be as kind if S2 doesn't considerably accelerate the snails pace.
Made by Apple + artsy-fartsy shots + lesbian lead (not that there's anything wrong with that) = critic O-face.
You trying to tell me that closing Hug didn’t hit hard You gotta admit though, it probably did for a lot of viewers, which is classic Gillian in BCS. The slow moments were often cited as necessary to land a big moment later. So this one, Kim (I mean, Carol) learning that loneliness is worse than living with aliens did need some space to build. the other normies kicked her out of their friend group. Seemed she wanted to hang out longer in the Vegas penthouse, too. So, half an ep (with Manousos being other half) to flip her like that isn’t too long in grand scheme of multiple seasons. Classic Gillian that BCS was often criticized for. Heck, S01 of Breaking Bad was considered slow for most of it, as I recall.
S1 of Breaking Bad was 2008 and S1 of BCS was 2015. It's 2025 and audiences are not as patient. What succeeded 10 or 17 years ago may not work now.
