He was a try hard as a player, and in Pop’s system he understood his role and did what he was supposed to do. He’s been effective as a “law and order/structure” coach which was great in transition from Silas but I think he desperately needs some creative voices on the bench (MDA anyone?) to help with the O and player development.
Not sure of the cap and whatnot, but if we could pick up CP3 without sending anything of value out I’d be all for it. Mentor role and emergency “settle the team down” ball handler.
Tate is so buried on the bench at this point that if there is a team out there that wants and values him and thinks they would play him you would probably be doing him a favor by trading him. Guy is 30. He doesn't have tons of time left in the league and if I was him, that would be what I would be thinking about.
i get what ur sayin... but ya see... CP3 doesnt strike me as a guy begging for an opportunity.... he strikes me more as a "yall dont want me? well fk yall then..." lol i mean he already said this was his last year... he gave the Clips a sweetheart deal to be close to fam and retire a Clipper... maybe if SA called, he might consider... but im not seeing him changing his tune on Frittata... dont get me wrong... I'd love to have him as a bench option... i jus dont see it happening...
Ya, I'm not sure it happens either....But if he does want to play one more season and the Rockets are giving him a chance to do that on this team without a PG that has his savvy and experience....I just am not sure he turns his nose up and refuses to come here because of what happened in the past... But you could be right. Pride is a helluva motivator.
While I get that CP3 could be good for Reed longterm, we need a guard that can still play at least 20 -25 minutes a night...enough player coaches right now.
I think if Tilman is willing to be the one to apologize first for his past comments and tells CP3 how much this team could benefit from someone of his caliber, then CP3 may be willing to bite on the opportunity. But without that apology.. yea no way in hell I think CP3 has any interest in coming back to Houston.
The Rockets could send Tate to the Nets to absorb his contract and give the Nets a protected SRP. They could then use the player injury exception from FVV to trade for CP3 (has this one even been approved yet?)
Our options are really limited and I don’t think you can find a better PG reinforcement than CP3. Tate’s minutes has been limited and when Tari and DFS come back I don’t see a role for him. I think it’s a no brainer.
The alleged interest is evident, but the personalities on the Rockets are so diverse and different than what we know of CP. How would it mesh? If you can get CP and Nic, I like the mix of leadership and hustle (my bias for Nic is too obvious) for 15-20 PRN label as written on a prescription. Then again, there's plenty of prisoners on lackluster eastern teams that could give the Rox more of the specific needs necessary for improvement. The West is unlikely to help rivals...but don't ignore Sac-town, BK and listen for the Wiz or sneaky No Way Jose. I really miss FVV securing the ball and getting the offense set. We have enough scorers...Freddy is great at maintaining possessions and accountability. Hoping he heals faster than expected.
It is Imes lineups that are making it difficult to watch - last night he was playing too many small guards - like Reed and Holiday and okogie - and then he takes them out and puts in his precious jumbo package with Amen as the only pretend guard who is half man half amazing half standing in the corner being rotated off of- which is statistically mediocre as hell - it is now down to +0.4 on the season. Just STOP Ime. I know you know this lineup sucks and yet you go to it trying to make fetch happen with the no guards lineup
