OKC and the Rockets are set up to be contenders for a long time. Both are already deep with young players and have valuable trade and draft assets. Right now, the Rockets are better positioned from a cap perspective going forward. Coaching and injuries are two big factors that could change the landscape. The last dynasty, Golden State, was blessed with one of the best players in NBA history that was available when it counted and one of the best coaches (no matter how much he is justifiably hated.) Not to mention and ownership that was willing to pay billion(s) in luxury taxes over the years.
