Agree that this was under Hawley's standard fare (based on Fargo) but not terrible. Hoping to see my H-Town boy Russell Harvard (Mr. Wrench from Fargo) get a part in the upcoming season.
If they transition from covering the Lost Boys and Girls to the 4-5 Corporations, I would be more stoked as well as the poster above. Neomorphs and Yautjas are the Mr. Wrench for me.
Liked, A- The slow pace of the first half of the series worked for me, tackling the philosophy, science fiction, and a real world scenario that brings to light the motivations of the original alien missions. Monsters, especially the sheep, creepy and interesting. The lead actress was very good. Also liked the white haired Android, and I even liked the boy genius. I did not mind the child theory, nor the lead learning the alien language, but it seemed preposterous for her to command the aliens to attack. They would have been better off I think following the lead character off island rather than insisting that the humans were the true monsters and putting them in.a cage.
I hated boy genius right up until the point when he got locked up and had a big, inappropriate ****-eating grin about everything that was going off the rails. That little disjointed moment of insane glee at everything falling apart despite it being a personal disaster for him flipped my opinion. He's a'aight. I dont think this is a spoiler. I saw it in the promotional material when they put out the announcement about season 2 being picked up. If anybody's offended, LMK and I'll spoiler. Apparently London is the setting for season 2. They're done with the isolated island in the middle of the ocean.
