It's one of the reasons it's very difficult to have a personal relationship with people around you that are MAGA.
I look at them and think wow, this person is easily brainwashed, has zero logical or critical thinking skills and has unfounded hatred towards select group of people. Why would I want be friends with them?

Needs Noem or Bondi as the weird pale assistant with tentacles coming out of her head and Vance or Hegseth as the cackling little varmint thing.

I was arguing with a family member about Trump last night. He's better than Trump in every way and I love him to death. But yeah... it's not easy sometimes.

To his credit, he will listen and admits sometimes that I may be right.

I want to nudge people against this way of thinking. For lots of Americans, politics is not something where they would even think logic or critical thinking applies. Politics is ultimately about people, so for many, they just have a gut reaction to some people, plus they want to belong to their local social groups, and bingo, there it is. They happily pull the R lever and defend it when whiny liberals start posting graphs, using quotes, and numbers, etc. "But you voted for so-and-so."

I'm not saying it feels much better, but plenty of otherwise kind people just simply do not put thinking caps on for politics.
