Literally right above the post. Tmacfor35 says he’s number 6 above Love, Maye and others that are without a doubt better, HLM has said numerous times he’s a top 5 guy in the other threads. Maye might have an easier schedule, but the metrics that some use to say CJ is a top 10 guy, all say Maye is a top 3 guy. All of them
Right now- without a debate: Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Stafford, Maye, Love, Burrow, Dak, Goff, Baker, Darnold and maybe Herbert are better than CJ. Dart, Daniels and Caleb could be. There are only 3 I would for sure trade CJ for right now. I do believe CJ is better than what he’s shown and is capable of being a top 7 QB. But right now, and for the past two seasons he hasn’t been.
Not emotional at all brother. Demeco has proved that we can win without a $50 million QB, IF you have a stifling defense and a ball-control QB. Trade CJ for more talent and/or draft picks and focus on an efficient offense that doesn't turn it over, a great kicking game, and a DOMINANT defense.
He most assuredly did not say that. He grouped Stroud with a second tier that included those guys. Nowhere does he say he's #6. Maye has been better than Stroud this year. But as with any discussion, there's plenty of context to that statement that guys like you are much too quick to hand-wave away. McDaniels is an elite offensive coordinator - would you trade Caley for McDaniels? - and the Patriots schedule is ridiculously easy. That doesn't necessarily invalidate Maye's successes - but to pretend it is not a significant factor is head-burying-in-the-sand behavior.
Maye is on his second OC in as many years. McDaniels has one of the most notoriously difficult offenses to learn specially in the first season. You can use any metric to devalue Mayes competition, but those same metrics say he’s a top 3 QB currently. It’s disingenuous to use one vs the other. Tmacfor has said numerous times CJ is a top 5 guy, so has HLM. Even saying he’s a top 10 guy right now is inaccurate. He could be by end of season if he makes a huge jump
And even simply lumping CJ in with Love, Maye, Dak, Goff and a couple others is just simply not based in reality
Not at $50 million. I wouldn't pay more than $10 million. We can get another QB to run a basic offense. We don't need a record-breaking offense to win. Let someone else pay him. We'll still win. There are many from whom to choose. https://overthecap.com/position/quarterback
I've spent countless hours defending CJ with definitive stats, clips of former Qb's, etc talking about him elite. All get disregarded. Then they use their own stats to say why Davis Mills, Will Levis, and Drake Maye are better. If it doesn't align with their idea, then they are unwilling to even be remotely objective. It's why I get notifications that an "ignored poster" replies and I still haven't bothered to respond for almost a year.
Lmao, same guy replies all the time. Also the same guy that blames literally everyone but CJ, it’s why no one takes him seriously. Then lies and claims anyone said Levis was better. Also ignores actually fact, Maye is better. End of story
Maye has yet to throw for 300 yards in a game. The reason he has been very good this year is the Pats have a run game and the SuperBowl-winning OC: McDaniels.
This just isn’t remotely true lol. NE is 21st in rushing yds per game, the Texans are 23rd. Maye is averaging 262 yds per game passing, good for 3rd. Stroud is averaging 218 per game, good for 20th. But yeah, 300 Yd GaMEs!!! Weird
2 plays. He also made several bad plays. And in reality, if Reid didn’t gift us field location on one of the dumbest calls imaginable by him, we probably aren’t scoring. How many passes were completed in the 2nd half?
