One of the smoothest to ever do it, and my first favorite player. Hakeem was my dad's guy. TMAC was mine...in hindsight, McGrady wasn't THAT good as a Rocket, certainly nowhere near James Harden.

But man was he fun to watch

I think a good back specialist and LBJ's workouts would have done miracles for him.

Sometimes working out the right way could have done it for a career.

Penny Hardaway meets Cousin VC Carter.

McGrady was pretty good, even Top 60 of All time, lol.....people have a negative sentiment because he always failed in the Playoffs....

It was a mental thing and bad luck for sure but dude was a great player.

I would not call a Top 60-70 talent hundred tiers below Harden, as fans outside of Houston have a higher opinion of McGrady than the Houston fans.

Bleachers had him actually at 59 above Champs like Klay Thompson, Tony Parker and Ginobili.

Due to Orlando Mac being at the level of Kobe for a short period of time.

Friendly reminder that Harden and McGrady's Playoff stats on the Rockets are quite similar.

Only one of them, however played on a roster where only four players scored in a playoff game.

McGrady would also have played the 4 in the modern game, that is not as taxing as to run against guards.

He (barely) missed the 3-4 Super friends era, which would not have harmed him.......

I watched this game live when it happened …on league pass. Had already left Houston. I still remember it vividly. But T-Mac ultimately ruined his good will with me when he was hurt in the playoffs while the team was still playing LA very tough, and said publicly he thought LA would win. He was dead to me after that.

Yes, Mr. XBull. But for info, he is in the Top 70 in other rankings as well that I have seen.

Haha my bad, but still, 13 in 33 seconds is not something Harden did similarly. It’s not about comparing players or greatness, legacy etc. That comeback was iconic.

I loved McGrady, until I saw him literally quit on the team midway through a game with Toronto. After that it's hard to even recognize he was a Rocket. Could have been a great one, but lacked anything like a mamba mentality. Soft as Charmin. If he were on the team today he might already be a Wizard.
