Stroud is top 6 in EPA. Going in to the year his weapons were Nico, a second round rookie WR, what many considered a bottom half of the league TE. His line is average at best. His running game is below average. His OC is incomplete per a grading scale but I would say average at best. You turn on the KC film. The Texans don't win that game if Stroud isn't playing superman. Clint Steorner former NFL QB pulled the tape and feels the Texans probably don't score a point with Mills at QB because the game plan was terrible. The KC Chiefs were in a de facto playoff game. Since 2019 the Chiefs in Nov-Jan in Arrowhead were a staggering 36-3 with Patrick Mahomes as the starter. Crazy. You would think our QB-1 would get way more grace from the fan base. He is a top tier QB and because he has to play superman. Missed throws are the talking point for whatever reason. 90% of this board is taking him for granted.
Last week it was QBR, which now he’s 11th. This week it’s EPA, where he’s 6th on one site and below 12th on multiple others. CJ has been average, at best. Extremely up and down, plays where he looks really good and plays where he looks extremely bad. Yes there are underlying factors. But having a top 5-7 WR, a top 10-15 TE and an average to slightly below average Oline is not the worst situation in the league. Bottom line is he has to do better.
