Get ready for private equity to buy up more college sports programs destroying whatever resemblance we had of college sports. Sick stuff

This is a horrible idea......it is a cheap way for Hedge fund people to buy a program, but the school's needs won't be considered.....and Title 9 will be a problem for women's sports when they are killed because of a lack of revenue.

People need to quit pretending there's any purity, let alone any college, in "college athetics." Let the rot stink to high heaven, for all to smell.

Maybe if we give billionaires another tax cut that will fix stuff? Maybe we need more deregulation of private equity? Dont you know billionaires and hedge funds will trickle that money to every day people buddy!

College Football has lost its appeal to me, I used to live and die by the Huskers and now it's just who can finance the best players, they rarely go to a school becasue they love the history of the program, now it's who can pay me more

Exactly -- and I don't blame them. But old school coaching and playcalling, with occasional inspiring upstart teams that play really well together based on several years of working together, is going to become less and less important. The gap between the top ten schools and everyone else will get huge (kinda like, well, society itself).

Its depressing ****. Private equity has already bought up alot of little league teams in the NE and banned parents from video taping their kids cuz they wanna sell copyright footage. They banned signs that parents have made or custom shoes with messages on them. Its just so bleak that we have so many morons in this country that think the solution is to give these leaches more money.

Private equity destroys everything they touch

They don't allow parents to film their children or make signs and banners? That's sick. I'm glad I grew up in a different world, where kids could just play sports and have fun. Money sucking leeches suck the life and fun out of everything.

Simply remove them from the college.

See that is the thing. The College is the selling point
no one would pay for the product

This has been been proven USFA XFL and other wanna be leagues

on the other end of the spectrum,

There is the private equity sandwich grab

this could be how you end up with subs that feel a little lighter.
Less meat, fewer toppings, maybe bread that seems just a touch shorter.

Nothing like a 300% cost rise and streaming service costs between $25 and $50 a month for parents to watch films of their children playing to make little league sports a game where it's all about the money, and not giving all kids a chance to be part of a good league.

It's sad really, because just because the Richy Rich types of the country can all afford to send 3 kids to leagues that cost $9,000 a year each, doesn't mean their kids have even half the natural talent to excel compared to a kid who is left out. Look at all the guys teams like the Astros recruit. They come from countries like Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic where programs are affordable by most, and supported heavily by the community and with sponsors. You find a lot more true talent by keeping costs down for players compared to high-end travel ball in the U.S that is only affordable by some. Their love for baseball in places like Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, and their culture and support sure is better for kids than what's happening in our country with amateur sports.

nobody’s forcing these colleges to do this

if they want to sell out to private equity firms, that’s on them

This is amazingly disgusting but predictable, in a farce sort of way. America is just eating itself while it rots.

    Turrible.

I had to explain what private equity was to the guy building my fence today and how these companies are gobbling up all of the rent houses and driving up rent. He goes ‘you mean like Monopoly!?!?’

    Another unsatisfied customer.
