After years of watching for something to happen at the winter meetings I have finally resigned myself to the idea that nothing is going to happen there. It takes a week or ten days for the expectations to fade and only then will the biggest news of the off season be announced.

They got my hopes up when I saw a KC uniform.

Mets just lost Edwin Diaz to the dodgers. I’d expect the Mets to at least inquire about Hader and Abreu

Hope this gets the ball rolling for transactions.
Interesting he's called a power boost as they already had him.

I’m loving seeing the NL teams load up. Not only keeps stats out of the AL but also drives up the value of Houston’s tradable big leaguers.

Not surprised....Diaz to LA was my prediction. They needed bullpen help and being the Dodgers, they would go for the top guy and Diaz was it. How much was deferred??

I know. Imagine being pushed to 7 games by the Blue Jays in the World Series. Dodgers should have went 162-0 and swept the playoffs. Can't allow another down year like the last 2 to happen for them :)

Disagree. He has stuff and if we like him I trust our coaching to unlock him.

Dodgers are making me hate baseball. I'm not going to pretend that nobody has a chance, because baseball is so variable, but I don't like seeing all these stars compiled onto one team, especially via FA. It sucked when it was the Yankees and it sucks now.

I do like going after guys that have come back from or are in the process of coming back from TJ early in their careers, played some of a season last year, and getting them for spare parts. Do that a few times and get Verlander on the squad and I think we might have something. The first six months to a year always seem rough after the surgery and guys seem like they dial in the next season. I'm sure it is anecdotal, but makes sense to my brain.

    100% in agreement.
It was one thing to overpay beyond the tax threshold.
But deferring the salaries as they did with Ohtani. That's next level ****kery.

Problem is they are MLB's cash cow. And they will never worry about kicking the can down the road because they basicly have their own money printing press. It's a real problem for every fan outside of LA and NY, and it's not the Yanks it's the freakin Mets.

If the Astros want him and are willing to give up Paredes, I'm all in. He's 23 years old and 6'6" with a fastball that can reach triple digits.

    He's a BIG BOY at 250 pounds.

Not that I disagree with your overall point, but Forrest Whitley was also once 6’6” and 23 years old with a triple digit fastball.

Well, he's actually won some games at the AAA level and Murphy is calling the shots.

He made it to the majors after 20 games in the minors. They kid has potential written all over him. The floor is a very good relief pitcher. The ceiling is pure nastiness.

    6'7" and 21 years old...so obviously Whitley's better
