...but that's just 3 remaining games - what about the rest of the teams? :D

Jose Alvarado on the Pelicans does have $4.5m contract with 1 year $4.5m player option remaining.... since Codman made some cryptic talk.

FVV when he comes back healthy is still better than Reed. I prefer to trade them both to upgrade the point guard position

All we really need is insurance for a Reed or Okogie injury or if Reed consistently plays defense like he did last game (unlikely in my opinion). Alvarado would be fine. Absolutely wouldn’t break the bank. When we get Tari back and DFS plays we will not have enough minutes to go around.

I'll be honest, the more that I think of it, FVV is genuinely the PG we need to start ahead of Reed. It's such a bad stroke of luck because he does everything we need and is super solid on defense but can easily defer to anybody else and it's no big thing. I genuinely probably agree with Ime/the Front Office and don't think we should trade him. He's also the perfect person for Reed to learn from on how to play and be effective as an undersized guard in the league. If we need another stop gap steady point for now we need to move one or more of the plethora of defensive wings, not Reed or FVV as far as I can see it. We could still do bits this season, and if Fred comes back next season and still is "Steady Freddy" with improved progress from Reed? That's our current weakness plugged...just a thought.

Disagree on Fred. We don’t need a steady hand that slows the offense down to a crawl. I didn’t see this willingness to defer last year. Maybe it was personnel, but facts are facts. He was a high usage poor offensive player last year with an awful TS%. We only miss his defense when Reed or Holiday is in the game. It would be much better to get some Reed insurance than give the Ime/Fred brothership a chance to duplicate last year’s pitiful offense. The plan to hand over the offense to Amen, Sengun, and Durant is the right one. We just need the patience for those guys to build synergy. Okogie is a better defensive player than FVV.
