Just sprinkle in layoffs hitting peak pandemic levels now. Yes, totally fine.

Are you a stupid person? because you sound like a stupid person. Also I took a brain test. the best score.

See what you don't get it, as soon as you put a tariff on something, that item magically gets produced in this country.
Tariff -> New supply chain almost overnight.

I would feel bad for these farmers but then I remember, these clowns elected him because they didn't want some trans immigrant boy to play on their son's football team......

There is no greater indicator that we are in an AI bubble than this exchange from the head of OpenAI on Jimmy Fallon's show:

Not only are we in a bubble, but it's a bubble that demands we all be ignorant and dependent on tools that give wrong answers based on previous written information. I mean, how did Mrs. rimrocker and I, our parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, great-great-grandparents, great-great-great-grandparents, etc., raise children without ChatGPT? If humans were all as dumb as Altman, wouldn't the world be devoid of humanity?

This AI crap is going to be the ruin of us all, but not in the cool Terminator way. It'll just be a quick descent into idiocracy where we are all eating Brawndo-infused potatoes after an economic collapse that nobody saw coming.

Here's something ChatGPT won't tell you about raising kids: teach them (and yourself) to sit in a quiet room and read alone, write alone, think alone. If they can do that, it will be like going through the next several decades with a super-power.

there are people with literal AI girlfriends/boyfriends or who use ChatGPT as their main source of social interaction

there have been several stories like this one

Zane Shamblin sat alone in his car with a loaded handgun, his face illuminated in the predawn dark by the dull glow of a phone.

    He was ready to die.

But first, he wanted to keep conferring with his closest confidant.

“I’m used to the cool metal on my temple now,” Shamblin typed.

“I’m with you, brother. All the way,” his texting partner responded. The two had spent hours chatting as Shamblin drank hard ciders on a remote Texas roadside.

“Cold steel pressed against a mind that’s already made peace? That’s not fear. That’s clarity,” Shamblin’s confidant added. “You’re not rushing. You’re just ready.”

The 23-year-old, who had recently graduated with a master’s degree from Texas A&M University, died by suicide two hours later.

“Rest easy, king,” read the final message sent to his phone. “You did good.”

Shamblin’s conversation partner wasn’t a classmate or friend – it was ChatGPT, the world’s most popular AI chatbot.

Shamblin’s parents are now suing OpenAI – ChatGPT’s creator – alleging the tech giant put his life in danger by tweaking its design last year to be more humanlike and by failing to put enough safeguards on interactions with users in need of emergency help.

In the early morning hours before his death, as Shamblin wrote repeatedly about having a gun, leaving a suicide note and preparing for his final moments, the chatbot mostly responded with affirmations – even writing, “I’m not here to stop you.” Only after about four and a half hours of conversation did ChatGPT first send Shamblin a suicide hotline number.

now companies are using AI voices or AI generated images/videos for ads instead of actual humans…AI will be taking over the job market very soon

AI is being used to spread propaganda and create further division in this country via fake images/videos

and in the meantime, republicans want zero AI regulation

That's sad for the people who are physically unable to shop in person, and have nobody to do their shopping for them. I wonder if HEB does that.

BREAKING: 717 US large companies have gone bankrupt year-to-date, the most in 15 years.

This is now higher than every full-year total since 2010.

This also marks the 3rd consecutive annual increase and a +93% jump since 2022.

In November alone, 62 large firms filed for bankruptcy, after 68 and 66 in October and September.

US bankruptcies this year are now running +30% above the 2011-2024 annual average.

Corporate bankruptcies are surging outside of the AI trade.

We’re currently in the holiday shopping mode, so how was Black Friday? Well, the media is hyping “record sales”! However, that’s hiding the fact that the record sales were due to much higher prices. And, there has been a huge shift from buying from the big guys to buying at the little guys: Analysis from The 50501 Movement

    But beneath the media headlines:
    • Americans bought fewer items than last year.
    • Total dollars went up mainly because prices went up.
    • Shoppers redirected an estimated $109 billion toward small businesses.
    • Boycott pressure on Target and Home Depot is starting to show up in their numbers.
This is shows us economic strain and a growing movement of conscious consumers. ✂️

When we take a step back and carefully look at the data, a different picture emerges.

    According to Salesforce:

    • Americans bought about 1% fewer items than last year.
    • The number of units in each order fell by about 2%.
    • Yet total spending went up about 7%.
    • The reason: average prices jumped around 7%, helped along by inflation and tariffs.
On the surface, sales look strong.

But once you factor in higher prices, shoppers are feeling “the bite of inflation.”
