You guys seriously can’t be this r****ded. I refuse to believe you guys are this dumb

Nobody is arguing he had a bad 1-2 minute stretch. The issue is he alone gets singled out for not. Holiday kept making defensive mistakes all game, Amen turned the ball over more than anyone I’ve seen in a long time.

if you can’t let a de facto rookie play through some mistakes before tossing him in purgatory then trade his ass. Some of you dumbasses wouldn’t be able to develop curry, Shai or any other superstar early in their career because of your your low IQ/short sighted decisions. Curry was pretty mediocre on offense and terrible on D early on. Mark Jackson to his credit allowed him to play and learn

we weren’t winning this game, at least develop your top 3 lottery pick because those minutes and experience under his belt will pay off later.

this idea about “Reed only fans is so dumb” what we actually have are Ime Udoka low IQ nut huggers that relate to the the low intelligence in a man that fukced a fellow Celtic team members wife while being the head coach. He’s a flat out moron just like you guys

And he was benched for only a few minutes. Came right back to start the 4th. Dallas literally was going at him on almost every possession in the 4th and still, he was only pulled again after picking up his 5th foul. I get it that people see Reed as a breakthrough talent that could have made a comeback (I see that too), but Reed didn't have it last night and he was hunted relentlessly. What I saw was Ime giving him plenty of opportunity to help the team - he just didn't have it in the 2nd half.

See above. Again people keep missing the obvious. Nobody thinks Reed would have won the game for us, but he should have earned the right to play through his mistakes during a game the entire team is getting run through and we’re losing

People keep using strawmen to hate on reed

We were massacred (my “Massacre the Mavs” on page one didn’t play out). Never assume. You can get beaten by an inferior team. How many times do we have to go through this before it sinks in?

Love Reed. I saw Ime trying Reed+team as the primary path for the comeback. When he picked up his 5th and the lead hadn't gone down, he went in a different direction - all hustle and energy guys, which did get the lead down to 11. At that point, he didn't even put Durant back in.. he simply rode that group. That's what I saw: he tried Reed as the primary path, as he should. Changed direction (we call them game adjustments, I think :)) and that almost worked. I would have liked that he put Durant back in, but I get it that he wanted to ride it out

Also, people say Ime doesn't let guys play through mistakes. I disagree. When you're making multiple mistakes, sometimes the best thing is pulling you out - let you sit, clear your head, think it through, then come back. Playing through mistakes is one approach. Mental reset from the bench is another. Both work. I saw the latter with Reed in this game as he came right back to start the 4th.

Those that have watched enough NBA games know that the worst team can beat the best team on occasion. Even Jordan's team lost some really bad games. NBA talent is still NBA talent.

Love Reed and still believe in him but the loss was honestly caused by that stretched few minutes in the 3rd quarter when Reed was making consecutive mistakes. That's what put the rockets into the hole (while giving big momentum to Dallas) and they were never able to recover. This was a game with plenty to learn for Reed in terms of risky passing and learning his defense (to stay in front of ball handler vs. letting a pass by and gambling to poke the ball from behind) as he was being challenged and attacked continuously by the opposing team.

The 72-win Bulls team trailing by ~30 points to the Denver Nuggets at the half showed you that even historically great teams can have very bad games. Now, that Denver team wasn't the worst team, but was well below a .500 team. The Bulls came back and almost pulled it off, but still lost.

More recently, the 73-win Warriors team lost to the Lakers, the worst West team, by 17 points. This was considered the biggest upset in NBA history based on win percentage differences (0.73).

Big upsets are a regular event in the NBA.

I’ve been called a lot of things on this board, but Ime nut-hugger is a first. Reed got pulled when he made 3 idiotic turnovers on consecutive plays when we were trying to mount a comeback and yes, the Reed only fans of which that are a bunch of went crazy. If someone else on the Rockets team, especially Amen, did that the hate is waste deep. When Reed has a bad game he didn’t really because his +- was positive, lol.

Ime has lost us a bunch of games, but this wasn’t one of them. Leaving a guy in when he was being hunted consistently in a game where we still had a chance is not good for the team or the player. You can ruin a rookie by playing him when his confidence is shaken and Reed is pretty much a rookie. Ime deserves plenty of criticism, but he didn’t really deserve it this game. Ime continues to give Reed backup pg minutes even though he has pretty much sucked the last 3 games, which he should. Quit b*tching moron.

As mentioned earlier, I didn’t watch the game but as best as I can tell Reed being successful for any sustained period of time is lineup dependent at this point. No threat on the block means teams can single cover and/or help in the midrange and 3 point line. Reed and Durant operate in the same spots so until Reed gets better at getting to the rack he’s going to be limited to the corners. I also think HOF guard Jason Kidd as the opposing coach exploited Reed’s ball handling for that stretch. Again, not watching the game but wasn’t there anyone else to bring the ball up and let Reed play off ball?

People hold Amen who is in his 3rd year, a DPOY candidate last year, and average 18 points, to a guy whose essentially in his Rookie year (Reed). Theyll hound reed for turnovers but be completely silent when amen shoots 2-11 when the opposing team is leaving him WIDE OPEN!

How are you an NBA PLAYER and shooting 2-11 when the other team is leaving you WIDE OPEN?
