Hey musicians out there. My son is a professional guitar player down in NYC. (Studio musician). He has just about everything a musician could possibly want, but he asked me to pick him up a 5-watt tube amp for Christmas so he can practice at his place without having the cops called on him. I have been looking at reverb, Guitar Center and, Sweetwater online, but I can't seem to pull the trigger on one. He plays everything from jazz to Heavy metal. Basically, whatever the singer requests. The amps I have seen in this mode are: Marshall Bugera Blackstar and Bad Cat. I know nothing about the capabilities of these amps, and I want to surprise him, so I don't want to ask him which he wants. If any of you has knowledge on the universal capabilities of these amps and could make some suggestions that would be awesome. He is also what some call a shoe gaze, so I suspect a super clean channel would be preferred since the majority of his tones come from the 20 or so different pedals he uses. He is only electric and nylon strig flamenco no acoustic. Thanks for any advice. Price is not an issue.
