Needs a better QB, too. CJ is, by miles, significantly better at placing the ball. The thought of CJ having 10 days to get back up to speed, joining an improving offensive line and a significantly better set of (healthy) playmakers + *that* defense has me thinking this team can run the table.
I have felt the same. Higgins may actually have better footwork than Collins. Caserio nailed another pick. I just am dreaming if Dell can get back healthy the weapons this team has. They can do serious damage down the stretch if the OL improvement is real.
Nick out here finding pro bowl level receivers with day 2 picks no problem. The eye test confirms what the data suggest. Great route runner.
Friendly reminder that PFF has the 6-6 Chiefs at number 3 in their power rankings, which nullifies any of their "advanced metrics" they make up.
Yea, I don't care what their record is when you have 15, Reid and you can't underestimate the home field advantage at Arrowhead, I have been there and its electric. Were going to need to play CLEAN football and we need one score from the D or ST...............my dream is we are tied and we get the ball with 2:00 to play and we drive down and score with no time left.....................make it happen CJ
Damn, that's high praise from Smith. Most young WRs take 1-2 years to come around. I'm hoping he really steps up next year.
Prior to Nico Collins emergence, I would have thought Jayden Higgins' rookie year was a bit of a disappointment. But Nico turned out so much better than I ever thought he would after his first couple of seasons, so I still have a lot of hope that Jayden will turn out to be great. We certainly have a better track record of drafting WRs and DBs on this team than any other position.
I would agree, my expectations of what he would be was a huge disappointment BUT as you noted it took Nico a minute to get to where he is now so I have hope, I expect to see a vast improvement in year 2 and an even bigger push in year 3...........now, can we have Noel be a Tank Dell 2.0
Steve Smith compared him to a young Larry Fitzgerald. Higgins is never going to be what he can be until the Texans find a QB that can get him the ball consistently.
Unfortunately for Higgins he’s on a squad that “thinks “ it’s a power running team. Sometimes it’s not the player, it’s the team that is a bad fit.
I still feel Higgins dropped a lot of passes as most rookies do but if he were in this draft, he would be a top 16 pick. Overall weak WR class
