I'm watching/listening to the new Los Lobos live DVD, which Direct TV was kind enough to play for free yesterday and I Tivo'd it.

    This band is absolutely amazing.

    Los Lobos are great!
Those vatos can play anything. I saw them fews times live. They rock.
I saw them when the open up for Santana in the Woodlands a 97 or 98 and saw them during Super Bowl weekend on Main St.

New (or new to me) stuff, in descending order of preference, along with a few comments (IMVHO):

Arcade Fire -- Funeral (played it at least 20 times this last week)
Forget Cassettes -- Instruments of Action (Nashville local band -- think Sleater-Kinney meets Trail of Dead, but only with two people)
R.E.M. -- Around the Sun (above-average for the WB years)
Interpol -- Antics (hasn't grown on me like Turn on the Bright Lights did, but still pretty good)
Modest Mouse -- The Moon & Antarctica (pretty hit-and-miss, but still worthwhile)
Zero 7 -- Simple Things (I heard "Destiny" on the radio a month or two ago and looked up who did it. At that point, I remembered that I'd already looked up who did it about a year or so ago. Unfortunately, that's the best song on there by quite a bit)

really bought it a couple of weeks ago, had it in the car and given it a few listens.. still not sure.. certainly not catchy and if anything Stipes lyrics while great as usual don't seem to be loud enough.. only times i really got into it were when i was on my own in the car and turned it up real loud..nevertheless will persist

as for me, been listening to loads of Dresden Dolls (damn love coin operated boy) and Magnetic Fields the past few days and also the re-released London Calling by the Clash
