DFS is a guy they brought in for the playoffs. Those b****ing about him I’m assuming only look at box scores. He’s going to make a huge impact on this team if he’s healthy.

What if a patient told you this before surgery, would your recovery prognosis be more negative wrt returning to professional athletic activity.

this is from media day DFS mentioning playing on a bum ankle for 2 yrs, pretty much

I looked it up, and it can take 3 to 12 months to recover from ankle surgery. It will be 6 months in December.

I'd rather get DFS back sooner rather than later; however, as long as he comes back by March, then the Rockets will have a month before the playoffs start to integrate him with the team. He should be the second-best defensive player on the team when he's back

A healthy Adams was worth the wait. Let’s hope the same is true of DFS.

ESPN has him listed as a “GTD” or “game time decision”‘with a return date of 12/01. Does this mean anything? Or has he always been listed as such?

I was playing 2k with live rosters yesterday and he showed up as available so something must have changed. I just didn't think the first I would get to see him play is in a video game two months after the season started.

Nothing ESPN says has meaning other than box scores which are factual. They have absolutely no journalist integrity.

...and for what it's worth - DFS is likely our Tari insurance plan if we can't retain him on a reasonable salary. Houston is likely not trying to rush him because his value to the org is going to be 3 and D depth over the next 4 years. Can't start his long term contract off by rushing him into play if it potentially could impact his availability later in his contract when we might not also have Tari available.

Highly doubt they would suddenly have him as a game time decision with no announcement about his upcoming return and no chance to get his legs under him at RGV

My guess is that ESPN had a timer on "Out" set through November that automatically changed to "GTD" with no new information.

If this is the case, I wish the team provides this kind of timetable at least. Set some kind of expectations PLEASE

Obviously last night was as expected. I don’t think he did anything of note and it will take him some time to get integrated.

I'm surprised they didn't have him start out in RGV to get his legs back. I guess they wanted to give him the chance to play against his old team on Christmas
