Reed is so good, Fred AND Okogie lost their starting jobs. ;)

Reed has shown flashes on all levels of scoring. He can shoot from three, from the middle and finish at the rim. He can blow by his defender if one is taken away and he's getting better at passing the ball without turning it over. His defense is pretty good and still improving.
Then he turns around today against the Jazz and isn't even looking for his shot. All I saw was him going out there focusing on being a point guard setting everyone up and ends filling up the boxscore and helped make the offense look smooth and in motion.
He may not be Steph, but he has a good chance to get to that level someday.

Yeah, he needs to start and we need to figure out a way to add some scoring punch off the bench.

November officially in the books. Who has access to Reed's BPM for the whole month?

I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to return stats on bbref by month.

BPM is such a perplexing stat to me, on one hand the top 10 each year are usually pretty reflective of the top 10 players in the league. On the other hand you look at guys like Durant, Jabari, Adams having pedestrian bpm makes it hard to take stock in it

For a guy like KD these stats simply do not reflect the degree of difficulty of his makes. That's a big flaw in these stats. You have a guy who is for all intends and purposes unguardable, can get his shot anytime against anyone, and score at a percentage as if he is wide open. That's hugely impactful on the floor and demoralizing for the opponent, but the stats only take the numbers. KD shooting 48% is a completely different animal than Holiday shooting 48%, for example, but statistically they are both 48%.

Another player who is consistently underestimated by the stats is Dillon Brooks. He gets penalized too harshly for fouls committed and for turnovers, but the stats cannot measure the disruptive annoyance he exerts on opponents. Also, this thing called "irrational confidence" gets penalized, too, but in the flow of the game, at certain points, you need a guy who is a bit loco, to take what is a bad shot, and maybe ignite a team. The real game is just too rich for these stats...

Again - while it is true that Sheppard is 6’3”, he also has a vertical over 40 inches and a lot of hang time and very quick hands.

Yes his hands standout for sure but he also moves quick in tight cuts which allows him to get open looks on offense and defensively allows him to make up when beat by his man… his speed with the ball in transition is underrated too. He is regularly beating multiple defenders to the basket while dribbling. He does explode to the bucket but he is consistently going at a high rate with nimble feet.

KD likes playing with guys that understand spacing, passing and positioning. He has talked about it on a few podcasts before. Sheppard does those things well, and there is no greed on Sheppard’s end- he isn’t going to force shots because of ego. It is a really good duo on the offensive end and it’s clear KD trusts Sheppard in transition as he always looks to him.

Castle is in a great situation in SA with Wemby, Harper and Fox- but Sheppard has a great fit with KD and Adams and Sengun.

This is the optimal lineup on offense and not too shabby on defense. Okogie is a better overall defender than Reed but he's too limited on offense.

Holiday has been a good scoring punch off the bench so far. He's a good shooter. He's just not very good at playmaking. Okogie can knock down open shots too. Adams is going to get a lot of foul shot after grabbing the offensive rebounds. He's been shooting well from the line so far. Hope it can be sustained.

Go to the game logs for Reed and then click on "Switch to Advanced Game Log". This'll show BPM. Highlight the November games. It'll pop up a window showing the advanced stats for the period you selected.

Reed is going to be his own type of star. I do think he is a star for sure though a couple years down the line.

Those types of advanced stats tend to really punish low bbiq and being a lousy passer. It’s why guys like klay (dumb, terrible passer) and jaylen brown always rate really low, and someone like a joe ingles will look good. It’s why brooks always looks horrible, jalen always looked horrible, etc.

I'm not sure if it 100% has to do with his vertical. Sheppard does this weird/clever thing where he tries to block your shot on the wind-up instead of on the release. He has done it multiple times this season where he will try to slap the ball at a low point about 0.2 seconds before the release and it throws the opponents off guard.

This lol. It’s like the people claiming Sengun as the next Joker. It’s a disrespect to two once in a lifetime players lol. Reed is going to be very very good but it will actually take a miracle for him to get close to Steph’s ungodly level.

Miracle? If Reed were on the same quality of **** team Steph was in 2010, he’d be spanking Steph’s ass in career trajectory after 1 1/4 years in the league.

Nobody's "spanking Steph's ass in career trajectory" no matter what qualifiers you use, and I am not a Curry fan.

    Stop with the hyperbole.

And not to say Curry has been doing that for how many years.....almost 2 decades....15-17 yrs.

Insane Lebron, KD level of longevity. There is almost no year of waste .....and inefficiency.
