Jalen signed for $500K to play for G-league.

NIL happened because the NBA forced the ncaa to change. It was Jalen Green who was the living example for the NCAA to realize the NBA was serious, and they were going to have to change. Or NBA was going to both move back eligibility to HSers, and have the Ignite offer more and more contracts. The NBA player’s union also helped force NIL to happen in ncaa.

Overtime league was also contributing to making ncaa change … Amen and Ausur got $100k+ contracts, for instance

 

Have a buddy who was a scholarship player back in the 1980s. He was a smart guy and placed out of some classes. Did not stop him from being required to go to the team study hall every afternoon where they had a bunch of tutors lined up to help the guys taking the easiest 100-level classes. One day he was bored and just for grins decided to go up and ask for help with an advanced chemistry question to see what would happen. All the tutors were flummoxed, but the next day, there was a PhD student assigned to him personally.

 

This is HUGE for a player.
