Can’t even design a half decent play for the final shot. Looked like they don’t even practice that situation. Incredibly frustrating game. lots of work to do. This is not a top 20 team yet.
This is going to be a good team but it can be an elite team if they cut down all the stupid fouls. They fall apart when Sharp or Tugler are not on the floor and thats happening a lot. Kingston is a star. They better have some recruits or a transfer in mind because that kid is gone.
Yes, you've been praying for them to lose for a while, so they wouldn't be ranked so high and could "sneak up on teams like a cougar". It was dumb then and it's dumb now.
Yeah. I think those that have watched knew we were gonna lose pretty soon. Sampson knew it too, you could tell. Still, Sampson will turn this into a positive as he always does. It’s pretty obvious what needs to improve.
Low IQ mistakes so far this season. I expect their smarts to improve as the season progresses. I bet we are much better come February.
They are definitely a top 20 probably top 5 or 10 but they need to work on some things. Kingston Flemings can't do it all by himself. You are not going to win many games when your opponent goes to the FT line 18 more times than you do. Net of 15 extra points gained by Tenn at FT line. And that stretch of going 7 minutes without scoring, we seem to have a few of those every year. We need to fix all those things. The sky is not falling. It's only November. We will figure it out. Unless we get some serious injuries we will be right there come March and April.
We will be a legit top 20 team but I think we are outside of that right now. Obviously, our early season ranking is largely a product of last year. The sky is definitely not falling, just lots of work to do. I’m not scared.
There is things to work on but even with some really bad stretches, we were right there till the end against a team that projects to be really good. That Syracuse team played Kansas very close too. Sucks to lose but we looked worse in this same tournament last season. Its fine.
Our BIGS are playing SMALL. Nothing from Tuggler, Cenac needs a yr of development. And whats going on with McFarland?
There was an article floating around where McFarland says he might be cleared sometime in december. That kid has had some terrible luck.
Entirely too harsh. It is not where you begin, it is where you end. And, I still like the "cougar" analogy.
No idea what's happened since then, but his broken leg last Summer/Fall sounded like an absolutely gruesome spiral fracture type thing
I’d like to see Cenac have a big game today. Boost his confidence maybe. They’re going to need him to develop more, get closer to Flemings in production. Maybe Tugler has reached his ceiling. He still doesn’t seem as athletic as he was before the injury two seasons ago. There are times when he’s under the basket and goes for a layup or shot (and misses) when he should be dunking it. I think Flemings can more than replace the loss of Cryer, but right now there is a big hole left behind by Roberts and Francis.
