When KD retires who do you bring in to fit that role: big name, shooting, mentoring, ticket sales etc
I did. He was operating much more off ball cutting and being in the dunker's spot to create havoc down low. Also, the guards on the floor have him the spacing to operate. He wasn't controlling the ball much beyond the 3 point line in the half court against set defenses, he was looking to cut off ball and use his athleticism. It's just how he's best used and it unlocks his entire game.
Assuming Durant plays out his contract, Sengun will be 26 and Amen will be 25 - i.e. their early primes. I'm confident that two-headed dragon will be ready to take the H-Town mantle.
Until another team decides they value his services more than what we're able to pay him next year. Aaron's work last year and this year has got to intrigue some teams who need serviceable shooting off the bench. We overpaid for a third string center, so it's reasonable to assume that some team will be willing to offer Aaron an extra $1-2M per year to fill the same role he does for the Rockets.

When Sengun initiates he moves to the dunker spot. It happened less last night than usual. When Durant plays isolation he goes to the dunker spot.
