So we have had a work league for about 12 years. I've been in it for 10 and commissioner for 5 or so. Never any issues. Has gone back and forth between 12 or 14 man, PPR, not dynasty. Over the course of 15 years, never a veto that I can recall or even any controversey. So my friend "Ben" brings in "Danny" to begin this season as we were a person short (12 person PPR this year). A couple weeks ago, Ben is trending toward the 6th (and final) spot toward playoffs and Danny is out of it. Ben attempts to trade Troy Franklin to receive Aman St. Brown. The league vetoes the trade. Ben is bothered. Ben re-submits trade and I veto it. Ben is someone I have known for 15 years and is a great friend. Although long distance. I explain to Ben that it is frustrating that he would try that sort of thing in our league. Because we all generally play very intently. New guy (Danny) plays ok but you can tell is not as big of an NFL/Fantasy junkie as everyone else. I encourage him to make trades that are equitable if it is a playoff team vs non playoff team. So a few days ago Ben had his first baby with wife. I get the impression it has been stressful for them and his wife is a bit high maintenance. They went home yesterday. Today, in the middle of the NFL day, Ben trades Herbert to Danny for Josh Allen. Keep in mind Danny is out of playoffs, Ben is in at 6th seed and they had been warned about collusion. Ben brought Danny into the league beginning of the year. So after the veto, Ben goes crazy. Texting me all sorts of things about my character, telling me I am a fraud and etc. Would any other commissioner allow this? All thoughts welcome? Sad thing about it is that Ben is such a long term friend of mine. But I am very frustrated with how he had tried to manipulate my league. PS... I know that next year the trade deadline should not be 11/28 but that was the ESPN default and I didn't notice. Thoughts?
Yeah so after the Veto, Ben (who Has a strong team and was definitely going to make the playoffs) Went on a crazy rant and demanded his money back. So I refunded him and kicked him out of the league. I am now trying to figure out on the ESPN app how to essentially remove him from the playoff race? Has anybody ever done this? Will I be able to remove him from the bracket once the playoff field is set?
