Not sure why so many are making light of or questioning KD's motivation. It's family related and could very well be related to his mother's health. She's had Graves disease for many years.

This is a man with unquestioned devotion to basketball and would not skip games for no reason.

Grayson Allen has been low-key their second best player. Is he OUT?

I was not expecting him to be putting in all these minutes but with DFS and Tari out, what can you do? Give the old man some rest. He's 37, so young in the real world haha

Suns on a back to back and missing Allen. Should be an easy win.

I can't believe the Suns record sits at 11-6 (8-2 in their last 10). I figured they would be fighting for a play in, at best, this year. still early but pretty crazy to me

Not terrible news basketball wise. He needs the rest.

    Life wise, bless his family

The Rockets were going to have to play games sans Durant this season. There was no way he was suiting up for all 82. I'd be thrilled if he played in 70 games.

I do wish he wasn't out when Tari and DFS are also unavailable, but this is an opportunity for the rest of the team to get some experience early on to play without him. Hopefully Reed gets the start.

First real tests of what was expected to be a typical roster (with Durant sitting out 10-20 games). Too bad Tari is injured too. It's last year's team minus 3 starters (FVV, Brooks, Green) and 1 key reserve (Tari). On paper, that team is not winning, but the core has improved quite a bit this year. So we'll see how the young core performs.

The game threads seem to be arriving a lot later this season.

The Suns' 11-6 record is fools gold.

Eight of those 11 wins came against the Kings, Clippers (twice), Jazz, Pelicans, Mavs, Pacers, Blazers; their only wins against good teams were at home vs the Twolves and the Spurs (twice, once without Wemby). Their 4 losses came against the Clippers, Nuggets, Jazz, Grizzlies, Warriors and Hawks. That last part deserves repeating: They lost to the Clippers, Jazz, and Grizzlies. Houston lost to the Thunder, Pistons, Nuggets, and Spurs -- 4 of the league's top 6 teams (we're also in that top 6).

Phoenix is good enough to beat bad teams and occasionally a good team at home. If both teams were at full strength, we'd crush them. I still say we win this one by 10+.

@DaDakota and I were big believers in what Grayson has to offer

He's a complex guy and we needed to manage his minutes anyway. Not timely with both of those teams being good enough to beat us, but what are you going to do.

Yes, this is all true. But the Suns are playing hard and sharing the ball. If the Rockets don't show up with the right mindset, this will be a loooooong game.
