I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Our post-Durant "core four" should be Sengun, Amen, Bari, and Sheppard. Conceptually, those four fit perfectly together - just add a 3&D guy and you're good to go (which could be Eason if he can get his health in check). For better or worse, I'm excited to see it.
2027 Draft picks should be the future and 1 of the rest is probably gone...... May that be Jabari or Tari or both. We'll see by 2027 which positions the new additions play. That said, Sengün and Amen seems to be alright.....if they dominated without KD, I would have been more encouraged. I would like to see them play for a new coach and if they can still play well or play better even.
I’m excited to see it. A little ahead of schedule but looking forward to seeing the big 4 plus Okogie. I’m assuming it will be Okogie
The Future P.G. - Reed Shepperd S.G. - Future Pick? S.F. - Amen Thompson P.F. - Jabari Smith Jr. ..C - Alperen Sengun What this team needs is a Rip Hamilton.
Only problem is he only has a 6' 8" wingspan. Watching Stones signings and players traded for this last off-season, it's clear there is a minimum 7' wingspan requirement. Even Okogie has a 7' wingspan.
Big game for Jabari to show he could potentially be a poor man's KD. Honestly I'm kinda stoked to see the young guys without KD and without Fred.
We got both PHX and BKN swap for 2027 draft where we do have chance of getting two top 10 lottery picks that will set up for our future. KD will still be one of those spot up shooter even in late 30s and by that time Sengun, Bari, Amen should be hitting their prime while Reed getting better
What's funny is a guy like Okogie makes a lot of sense. Assuming KD retires after opting-in to his last year, Reed's extension will kick in the year after Durant's contract ends, meaning Amen, Sengun, Bari, and Sheppard may all be on big contracts. Therefore, while Eason would be great, it may be hard to squeeze in another large contract. Okogie, though, fits well - strong perimeter defender, can hit an open 3, should be pretty inexpensive, etc.
Amen played better being more aggressive on both ends. Still misses a lot of shots in the paint. Been frustrating watching his inconsistent and timid performances this year. At least he looked like the old Amen in this one.
