He is just playing out of position. It is time for Reed to start to let Amen get back doing what he does best which is reeking havoc on both ends off ball. Let the Tasmanian Devil do his thing.
I wonder how many players have gone from below average 3p% to Elite 1% level 3p shooting in 1 years time. Hard to imagine that's been done before.
To be really honest, he only played 50 ish games his first season so it is technically not even a full season. The sample size is suspect and small.
It's not that uncommon to have a small sample of highly inconsistent minutes lead to weird shooting percentages one way or the other. Just about everyone knew last season's numbers weren't a representative sample.
There aren't many players period who have pit up the % that Reed is right now, however there are a few well known 3pt shooter who were awful their rookie season and settled into what they become in year 2. Allan Houston and KD went from sub 30 to over 42% in year 2. Dirk went from 20% to 38%. And everybodies favorite comp, Mark Price, went from 33 to 49 in year 2, almost exactly what Reed has done.
I'm sure Morey is green with envy about us having Reed. His all-time favorite player is Mark Price. I'm sure he sees the comps.
Kind of hard to believe. I like what I see from Sheppard for sure but it doesn't necessarily look like "all time great" type production but I guess that shows you the value of being an exceptional 3pt shooter.
