Urquidy was the guy that we could plug in when we need him, but he was never going to draw attention on the trade market. He's just not a full timer

 

We probably could have gotten him a for a bag of potato chips at the trade deadline.

Much like Altuve is able to go on hot streaks still…. You can’t minimize the effectiveness or competitive nature of future HOFers that have gas in the tank (even if its fumes).

Agreed... and he'll end up pitching more innings over the last 7 years (when he was supposedly ready to 'retire') than LMJ, Urquidy, Javier, Garcia combined.

Man ,Francis Martes is only 29. He's been out of baseball for a while.

 

Man baseball is crazy. Martes and Whitley should have anchored our rotation for at least 5 years. Can't believe neither of them hit.

Not recent news, but thanks to reddit I found out that Chris Carter hit his 500th professional HR last season.

Still hanging around with the Campeche Pirates of the Mexican league. He's been a Mexican league mainstay since 2019. Not AAA, or Japan, or Korea..just the Mexican league.

 

I'm sure he could have played overseas if he wanted to.

 

Yeah, some people don't want to move to the opposite side of the world. Zero doubt Japan & KBO would have been interested.

 

I was never asked to play baseball in Japan for a year. That would have sucked.

 

Former Astros farmhand Chad Stevens is still out there grinding. Was very surprised to see he got a shot with the Angels last year.
