Damn, that 2nd rd pick from Wash at #39 is looking pretty sweet! If we could get Dunker, Lew, or Anthony Hill at that pick that would be awesome.

I think the odds of the Texans picking at their draft spots is probably 30/70. It is just too tempting for our GM to not trade up and down. I think we make several trades.
I I like acquiring picks when there isn't value at whatever spot their sitting at. I just don't want them to get too cute and miss out on the chance to fill a need given how close they are to being pretty good
It's gonna get better. They still play Philly two more times. Broncos once and the rest are. Vikings Cowboys and Giants. those last 3 are all toss ups.
I've been looking at coverage linebackers that we can select in round 2 or later. For the most part their pass coverage grades from PFF aren't great. Incidentally, TooToo's is currently 55, which is just fair. However, linebacker Jacob Rodriguez of Texas Tech has an outstanding coverage grade. Are any of you familiar with him?
Not familiar with him but a guy who I have been keeping an eye on is Sammy Omosigho from OU. He's a converted safety who is looking pretty good at LB in the Sooners D. Just a junior so he might not come out this year. If he did I think he'd be in that 3rd or 4th round range.

After Thursday night's glorious victory over the Bills I moved us from picking 16 to 19 in the PFF mock simulator. I'm ALL-IN on the OL with our first three picks and then adding another RB with our 4th pick. Thereafter I looked for value picks for the defense.
Idk, I think they'll stay around 15-16. Jacksonville is up a game on us and they have Tennessee twice still... So I think tbe best/worst we could do is 18th. Last night notwithstanding I expect losses at KC and at Indy at least. If the Texans can end up at 10-7 or 9-8 after their start I think things are primed for a run if they're healthy next year. As far as the draft, time will tell. As of now I'd spend some capital on LB & DT just because I want to keep the D dominant for as long as possible. I'd look at 2 of each myself. I think Kadyn Proctor solves the O-line problems almost by himself. Not because he's so good but because I feel confident they could put him at LT as a rookie and slide Ersery over to LG. I like the right side with a re-signed Ingram and Howard. Spend some fa dollars on a center and you're cooking. That still leaves 4 picks and some cap space to play with. But I'm just a dude drinking coffee and playing on my phone... BTW, I like your picks there too if Proctor isn't around.
I think Tennessee will ultimately trade the #1 pick, assuming that they have it, of course. I think someone will want to move up to take Fernando Mendoza. As well, I don't see a super-star player DE, OT, etc., in this draft that Tennessee is gng to be drooling over to pick.
