There's no argument for Mills over CJ even with CJ playing like dogshit most of the season. Mills is a solid game manager who won't lose or win you the game, CJ is a guy who will win or lose you the game....and if he ever starts getting the ball out on time and learns to read defenses so that he's not oblivious to pressure so frequently, he has the potential to be a top tier QB.

The biggest hurdle is that CJ has fairly slow mental processing for the position. That's something that is difficult to overcome, but not impossible.

I don’t really care what his GPA is or what he majored in. I’m sure he’s sooper dooper smart with the textbooks. Really doesn’t help him with football IQ.

How many times did we hear that Ryan Fitzpatrick went to Harvard. And yet, at times, he exhibited some of the lowest football IQ you’ll ever see.

Im not so certain Mills knows the offense better than CJ but I don’t care to argue about it. I just don’t know how you can think you know that based on his execution of certain plays over the past 4 weeks.

Mills ran the same offense for 3 years prior to this season. He should know it.

No he didn’t. Let’s be honest now.

Yeah, I'm not sure it's knowing the offense better, I think it's more just being better at reading defenses and processing information more quickly AND putting an emphasis on getting the ball out quickly to help the O line.

There were many times on Thursday where Mills knew where to go with the ball, he just failed to make the throw due to lack of talent or lack of chemistry with the receivers. There were TD's left on the field because Mills hit the DB in the back of the head instead of making a better pass for a walk in TD.....that's why Mills has a MUCH lower ceiling and why I say if CJ could learn those things from Mills, then we'd actually have the kind of QB that some think CJ is now.

    Mills just isn’t accurate.
If he was, he would for sure be a starter somewhere.
Physical ability is there, processing seems to be there.
CJ has all world touch/accuracy/arm talent and at least an average athlete in the modern NFL.
He just has to be more consistent with his reads and getting us into the right play.

This is usually true, though he's struggled this season likely due to him worrying about getting hit, but hopefully Mills showed him the blueprint for how to negate that rather than just blaming the O line and making things worse by holding on to the ball even longer.

We need a good CJ to go anywhere, so I'm hoping he has learned some lessons and comes out on fire.

He's not consistently accurate enough. Makes some brilliant flash throws though.

I agree he hasn’t been up to the levels he’s shown, I think he can get back there. It’s best outcome for us

Yeah man, consistency is the key. I want the young man to do well, as much as some think I don’t, I really do.
But, he just is too up and down for quite a while now.

When you throw it away instead of taking sacks, it doesn’t help your completion percentage, but it’s absolutely the right thing to do.

I'm quite content with him as our backup as long as he wants to be.

Oh I was talking about CJ there.

Im not sure Mills has the natural accuracy to be consistent. If he did, he could be a good QB. As of now he’s a back up

Colts have only beaten one good team. The Broncos.

If the Jags win out that means they beat the Colts twice and if we win out that means we beat Coltsx2 and the Chargers which puts us at 12-5 and very likely the highest ranked wild card.

We do control our own destiny.

Sure, but by this logic we controled our own destiny last week and the week before and so on...

Its not something that came with this weeks colts loss like he suggests.
