I worry about what everyone else might do too though. Harden comes in, everyone roles change. He becomes 1a, Durant 1b, and Sengun is now the third option. Is he fine with that? Is Jabari fine with just going back to being a mostly spot up shooter? Is Amen fine with not working on his PG duties? I mean, this would only be for 2-3 seasons and by then those guys will be in their prime 25-30 years and the team would be theirs but I worry one of these guys might not appreciate getting knocked down the totem pole. BUT do I believe that Harden, on paper, put in as PG here makes this team better and could very well be the favorite to win? Yeah I do. Do I believe that it would get this team a championship? Yes. Yes I do. For that it is worth it. One championship makes it worth it. I doubt Toronto fans are mad when they rented Kawhi for that one year. I also think, like I said when I wanted us to trade for KD...these players DO help young players. I think CP3 helped SGAs growth. I think Harden helped Maxey. I think KD is helping Jabari and Reed. I think Harden would help Reed a ton, there are so many tips and tricks you learn practicing with a guy of that level every day. So if the price isn't too high, I'd do it.
I doubt that. Harden has played every role possible in his career. From 6th man, MVP, 3 headed monster, playing with an MVP, back to sole focus. watching him through the years, he definitely knows how certain players play and can easily adjust. He left Houston to help out other teams but found himself always being the main guy which is why people still think he needs the ball. in Houston he’d most closely resemble how he was in BKN when he got there. Able to score, creates looks for others and able to let others work on their own. KD would benefit a lot from Harden Sengun, Smith, Thompson, Reed would benefit tremendously
Harden has been trying to be a 3rd option for awhile, but injuries result in him having to carry the team so they can survive he originally came to LA to be 3rd fiddle behind Kawhi and PG, but we see how that ended up working out 1st season there he only took 11 shots a game he just wants to be a facilitator and ramp up his scoring on occasion IMO…the man is 36, I don’t think he wants a large burden on offense
I think this is exactly the situation. Harden would LOVE to be a pass first point guard at this point in his career. He just doesn’t have that opportunity
I'm more open to Harden now than I had been in the past couple of seasons, but to me, it makes more sense for the Clippers move the corpse of Beal and maybe even Kawhi and at least try to make the playoffs. Maybe they would bite on a Tari centered deal though...he's probably the only young drafted player that I'd be willing to give up...
He fat, he about he, he the past. Mostly, bad fit for the team imo, plus, tired of all these retro only cucks
yes, they still have to pass the physical for it to clear. Ben Simmons was injured when traded for Harden.
They determine on medical records etc if that player's injury isn't as bad. or you get tossed around like Carlos Correa. Sometimes a new team finds something the other team hasn't (Sean Elliott / Horry-Bullard deal)
Tyrese Maxey after the win against the Clippers a few days ago “I love James,” Maxey said after the Sixers’ win. “He works extremely hard, I’ve seen it. He really cares about the game of basketball. I learned a lot from him.” This isn’t the first time that Maxey has spoken highly about Harden and how the latter has been a huge influence on his game. Back in 2022, he said that his game “blossomed” once he teamed up with The Beard. “When James even came in, I think I really got a clear vision of when I had to be aggressive to score and then aggressive to create for others. I think it really did help me, and my game blossomed. It helped me open up and see the floor better.”
Rockets need to call them, hopefully that’ll get Harden to force the trade because that’s the only way it happens. The Clippers have no incentive to tank because OKC got their pick. They really need draft picks rn especially with the looming Kawhi situation which could ultimately result in them losing picks. I say **** it give them Fred(should’ve been traded not resigned), Tari, Capela, and 2 or 3 picks. We can pick up another big man for Adams rest nights. It’s time to go all in and win a championship this year.
To get Harden you'll need to trade Fred/Capela/Tate for salary plus Tari and TWO first round picks unless Kawhi ends up out for the season somehow. That's because Ballmer has no incentive to tank and the play-in makes it unlikely that the Clippers will be statistically eliminated before the trade deadline. So for all of you dreamers out there, realistically you're surrendering the 2027 PHX pick and at least the worst of the 2029 PHX/DAL picks. Under those circumstances, do you still pull the trigger? I would argue yes because KD has a limited window. But reasonable people could differ.
