Large population, (generally) lower income, less likely abandon the airwaves for satellite radio. A drag. A well-known drag.

I cannot believe you can just blow off the longest running station in Houston without a hint of remorse. At least when Z-Rock went out, we knew it was coming. But I am even more crusjed about Walton & Johnson being gone. That was the funnest part of my day--Gone........ Clear channel is wondering why everyone is going to be subscribing to satellite music (XM, Sirius, etc.) in the near future. Outlaw Dave, Wendy Miller, Steve Fixx ..... Man, I can't stomach Adam Smasher or the Rod Ryan Show.... Looks like I may break down and actually get the satellite radio or an iPod. F@%$ Clear Channel !

If you think that Houston radio is bad, move to Charlotte. It is disgusting. But after having XM Radio for a while now, I cant stand any regular radio. Commercials suck. Morning talk shows suck. Actually, any DJ's whatsoever suck.

Now, go do Chance's job for him, and remind everybody that KBME is owned by CC.

In an offhand kind of way, this is related to the "new Sportstalk station," inasmuch as one source of male listeners will be those 18-49 yo males who give up on music radio completely after this move.

ZZ Top gets played on 93.7 and 106.9.

isn't The Buzz a rock station too? i know it's alternative rock and not hard rock but there's still at least 2 rock stations.

i never listened to KLOL almost at all but if i was still up at that time during the summer, i'd listen to walton and johnson. they're pretty damn funny.

i also think adam smasher* is funny but i never really listen to the show.

so is it adam or atom? adam would make way more sense but i swear i've seen it written atom. there's no pun if it's atom.

I stopped listening to KLOL when S&P were given the boot. I tried listening to the W&J but IMO they were not funny. Now my radio is tuned to 610 the majority of the time, except for thursday mornings I listen to 96.5 The Rula and Ryan show to hear "War of the Roses". Thank goodness for CD`s

FYI - Pruitt runs a store up by my parents house off 290 and Huffmeister....He sells knives and such

This f'n sucks. I've lived in Houston for 3 years, and I only listened to 3 stations on a regular basis when I got here - Buzz, Rock 101, and The Point. Now, the Buzz sucks ass and Rock 101 is gone :(

K101 went on life support sometime in the 80s when they went classic. Suprising, they made it as far as they did.

This sucks, the morning show was very funny and their politics were right on. The music was so so, but I dug the old Rush, Zeppelin, etc.

ok, so i did read it right that time. it just makes no sense to just call him atom smasher. if his real name isn't adam then i guess adam doesn't work either in which case scrap the whole name. either way, saying adam smasher to use the pun would make the most sense. but whatever.
