Clarification: I don't mean the object's age, but how long you've had it in terms of oldness.

Personally I believe it is either a bible I bought when I wanted to be a minister: back in 1992. Or a book about classic literature of African American fiction, which was bought around the same time.

Followed by a computer desk that I bought from pier one imports.

oldest item i have bought is a texas history book written by my great-great uncle in the 1930's. he was a long-standing history professor at st. marys in san antonio.

item i bought that i have continuously had the longest is probably a 20'' sabian thin ride cymbal that i bought in 1992 or so. i still use it all the time. if i could only have one cymbal on my drum kit it would be this one. good ride and also crashes really well. can get lots of different tones out of it.

Brand new Fender Strat with my first real job paycheck in 1989. Forget the name of the place but it was on Westheimer. Did not fully understand that the day you get paid is not the day your money is available and bounced the check. Had to go in with cash when my paycheck cleared.

was it the store on westheimer just east of montrose on the south side of the street? i bought an early 70's bassman amp there in the mid 90's and i stupidly sold it about 15 years ago. it was the best sounding amp i ever played out of and i cry whenever i hear recordings i did with it. i have never been able to recapture that tone!

Things I’ve owned the longest: I have some giant-sized marvel comics that were bought for me when I was 3-4 years old. And my Lego collection. Most everything else I lost in hurricane Ike.

Oldest things: some antique furniture from the 1800s and a Victorian house in Galveston.

    Soundgarden Badmotorfinger CD. 1991

I must've heard "Outshined" on Z Rock a little before Christmas in 1991 and had a religious experience. I asked for a CD player as my "big" Christmas gift that year, and my parents let me pick one CD to go along with it to open on Christmas Day. I'm pretty sure we bought it at the Sam Goody in West Oaks Mall. I was 12.

I still got my original Gameboy and all the corresponding game cartridges, so 35 years or so. Wish I had never given away my comic collection from that same time period, or the original mtg decks from back in the day, when you could still get alpha and beta card packages. Not that I had a great collection, but I've given it away a couple times over the years

I still have my black Tama Swingstar drum set that I bought with my own lawn mowing money back in 9th grade. Probably 1984? I passed it down to my kid for him to learn on, but he's since bought his own Mapex. Now it's back in the attic. I'll never get rid of it.

I've been a serious collector of books since I was 12.

I have several Kennedy half-dollars from 1964 my mom got us when they were issued.

    I'm 66. Is there a prize?
