DD, for the love of God, be merciful and don't put your fandom curse on Reed until he is established. Treat him like you did Sengun so his career is not derailed like KPJ and Cam.

I think it was an anvil under the cape. Of course I haven't seen Bugs Bunny in over 40 years so I may not be remembering correctly.

He should start as soon as he improves his defense to a point where opposing teams don't hunt him down.

He is already a better player than okogie, and so much room for improvement as well but I don't mind him to come off the bench and be the 1st option offensively while Durant and Sengun sits.

We need more shooters in first unit yes, but bench contribution is also much needed, especially when tari is unavailable.

Not the same, I wanted to see what Cam and KPJ can do, and BTW both are doing ok - with Reed he is special.

And, I don't believe or have a curse, those are for the weak minded, because if I did I promise Trump would not be President.

People talking about Reed's defense should realize letting Reed start allows Amen to go back to his old self reeking havoc on both ends of the court and look like he did last year. Amen playing like the Tasmanian Devil again will offset any defensive deficiencies from Reed (who is still learning and will only get better the more time he gets). Offensively a starting unit of Alpi, Bari, KD, Amen, & Reed would be amazing.

Until Tari returns, Reed needs to remain on the bench. We have no other scoring spark who can come in right now and provide 15-20 points.

Also, the team is 9-1 with Okogie as a starter. Why mess with something that's clearly working?

Reed needs to start but I can't argue with the logic here.

When it comes to developing young players, I am a big proponent of simplifying responsibilities as much as you can until they've got some clear base of performance. Then stretch them and see if they can maintain that level while needing to take on more.

Fundamentally, I am not in favor of doing anything to mess up Reed's newfound confidence right now. The role he's in right now, he can focus on dialing in his aggression and seeking out his shot first. Right as most of the starters are ending their first shifts and starting to get a bit tired, he can come on fresh, with a mandate to hunt his shot and carry the load. I don't want him worrying when he gets the ball whether he is meant to give it right back to KD/Sengun; he should be coming in with the expectation that he's going to be a play finisher.

If you're adding him to the starting lineup as the PG, I worry that he's going to need to start balancing out this newfound aggression with deferring to the lineup stars, making sure they get their shots in early, mechanically setting everything up on offense, and trying to keep from getting targeted early on defense and letting the opposing stars get off to fast starts.

This is all normal PG behavior, and I have confidence he will learn it in time. But that's a lot of mental load if he is the starting PG, and its not going to get easily fixed on the fly. To me, this is less of a Fernando/Sengun situation, and more of an Amen/Tari "Terror Twins" deal; you've found a rotation that has seemingly made your player extremely comfortable and playing at a high level; keep him there unless you're truly forced by injury or ineffectiveness to make a change.

Just to make sure, you didn't cheer for Trump to win, eh?...see the pattern? Next time go full on Trumper if you want him to lose!

I hope most of us don't actually believe that there is such a thing as a DD curse, lol. It's an amusing in-joke but that's as far as it goes haha

You could argue that his G-league stint last year makes the case for this: Liberated from deference to better teammates, he seized control and went off.

Maybe the alternative explanation is that he thrived against G-league defenders. But this year, when Reed is in on the court with KD, he plays like he thinks he's there to serve Mr. Durant.

Gotta learn to play sound defense without fouling a lot. Otherwise as a starter they’re gonna hunt him out for fouls…then he’ll be back on the bench which defeats the purpose of starting.

I want him to start...but smart money says NO. Atleast not until Tari comes back.

He also isn't sounds defensively and is a work in progress.

Plus 9-1 with Josh... we don't fix things that aren't broken. I know for a fact, IME doesn't.

    We need Reeds bench scoring.

He stays on the bench for the foreseeable future. Even though I am very curious to see him get the start and thrive with the first unit.

We just aren't deep enough with DFS and Tari hurt.
